So by Gravy's logic, because some pieces of shite shoot each other, all other crimes or violations should be ignored. What a fricking idiot.

His excuse that the cops should be off doing more productive work and that he had a bad day are used by almost everyone stopped for a ticket ever. Plus maybe, just maybe the cops are stopping him because his license plate is not visible and a lot of stops like that result in finding people up to no good. In the case of his stop, it resulted in finding out he had no proof of insurance. And it showed that he is an a-hole who likes to shout at cops just doing their job. So I would say their traffic stop found the right person up to no good.

Wait just a fricking minute.

quote:

You can’t traffic stop crime away. You can’t jail it away.

So police AREN'T the problem?

quote:

If we fix our inequities, STARTING with city and state tax dollars we will begin to reduce crime.

Where does he think "City and State Tax Dollars" come from? Here's a hint. shite like traffic tickets. So, in essence, we can traffic stop this problem away by writing shite ton's of tickets to magically produce the tax dollars that will magically make frick sticks quit killing each other.

He just completely contradicted himself.

At least he isn’t hiding behind his “give me more money” plan.

Actually that's exactly what he's saying. He's involved with the NBR redevelopment plan.

So give more money to those areas that are contributing the least.

In other words we need to redistribute more money from SBR to NBR

What his fat arse doesn't get is the majority of the tax dollars come from SBR, which is why more is spent in SBR. Why give money equally to both NBR and SBR when it isn't coming in equally?

You can't eat it away either, but he'd probably argue that.

BTW...You have a 3 mile diameter circle to predict where the next BR homicide takes place. Think you can guess right?

Isn't that pretty much exactly what New York City did to clean up the crime ridden areas of Manhattan though?

How are they supposed to effectively combat crime by not doing traffic stops? Traffic stops can lead to all kinds of shite.

I think Baton Rouge just hit 41 homicides. Yet our police and sheriff’s department are wasting time on traffic stops for license plate lights.
What this moron doesn't understand is that simple violations like this often lead to getting dangerous people off the street. What is a routine stop could lead to probable cause which could lead to finding drugs and weapons.

Gravy is never going to acknowledge fault, clearly.

If he was arrested for shooting someone, his defense would be that the police passed three white people with no lights on their license plate on the way to arrest him.

The funny thing is, he had an opportunity here to actually gain some credibility and build a rapport with the police, if he had simply said "wow, I was in the wrong. I didn't use a turn signal, and I didn't have the proper lighting on my license plate. And yet, even as a black man, the police let me off with a warning. Perhaps I was wrong to vilify an entire police department."

But I suppose his current stance is another way to go...

You cannot shake down people and make money from this stance....so no it doesn't fit the narrative.

You could give every person in North Baton Rouge 200k today and the only difference would be nicer cars involved in drive by shootings.

Does he NOT watch Live PD? Every traffic stop turns into more than expected.
