Waffle House is awesome. But you are 100% correct that Bourdain is capable of showing the world why a place like that is a treasure to be appreciated.
He's always said that his favorite meal is a simple, home cooked meal.

From the looks of his social media, I think Trump was in his head.
Trump lives rent free in most celebrities heads these days. Jason Alexander is a good example. I followed him for some laughs and Costanza nostalgia and unfollowed him after 2 days of nonstop political ridiculousness.

I never really idolized him like a lot of people that I know. I did enjoy his show. I hate it for his child he left behind.

Wow I would have never guessed he was at all depressed he had plenty money doing what he loved traveling

I love how they play Vivaldi while they make waffles.

don't know if it was any contributing factor, but bourdain had plans for a giant food hall in NYC, which would have mirrored hawker stalls in singapore and such. however, those plans got nixed due to the enormity and complexity of putting that all together.
maybe that drove him up a wall.

Anything you love that becomes a job, particularly one depending on ratings comes with stress.
It could be he felt he was just tapped out.

"his south louisiana episode when he attended that boucherie was outstanding and i thought did the area justice."
That was GREAT episode. I believe he called it one of the greatest meals he had ever eaten.

RIP to Bourdain. Suicide sucks.

So very sad. His poor family. My husband and I really enjoyed his show. Thought he had a dream job making money doing what he loves. If you watched his show on a regular basis you would see how he connected with humanity. He wasn't smug or pretentious with those he met in his travels. I can remember him enjoying a treat from a street vendor in the Philippines and some poor street kids coming up to him. What does he do? Buy them the same treat and sit on the side of the road enjoying it with them.

I wish they would bring back crossfire.

Bourdain reminded me of Olbermann. Pseudo-intellectual windbag, smarter than you and let’s you know about it. So eaten up with Trump hate that it consumes him. Hopefully Olbermann achieves the same fate.

Well he definitely had a bitter persona. It’s not surprising honestly.
Still sad.

I think I'll drunkenly stumble into a Waffle House this evening and crush an All Star Special in his honor.
RIP Bourdain.

This is way off. He would routinely say he didn’t like the things he tried.

quote:He's talked about his own mortality before. I'm not saying that it's impossible for him to be stressed out. But I never got the vibe throughout his tv career that he was worried about ratings. In some cases, it seemed like he had the "Larry David slip" with CNN & Travel Channel.
