Bourdain reminded me of Olbermann. Pseudo-intellectual windbag, smarter than you and let’s you know about it. So eaten up with Trump hate that it consumes him. Hopefully Olbermann achieves the same fate.
Look at the retard calling others pseudo-Intellectuals.

I guess the stupid fricking OT answer “Get out and exercise, it will absolve you of depression” didn’t apply in this case
Exercise does very much to help with depression. It might not be the universal answer for every single person, but it certainly isn’t a “stupid fricking” suggestion

Absolutely. Getting out in nature and getting the blood flowing does wonders for mental health for many people. Not universal but it's a good natural option.

His Nashville episode recently was hilarious

In a case of suicide, it likely is a “stupid fricking suggestion.”
This isn’t “Susie dumped me, I hate life” depression. Or seasonal blues.
Besides, Bourdain had a pretty intense workout routine and was shredded when he died.

He connected to people more than any actor, IMO, does. He has a conversation with you and brought you along trips with him.
This really bums me out

Exercise, eating well, meditation, therapy, and anti depressant drugs.
All in combination.
All in combination.

Yea I always liked the aesthetic of his show.

Yeah and I’d say therapy is most important.

Sad but not that surprising. Bourdain gave off the vibe of someone who could potentially off themself at any given moment.

Many of those things I tried stressing the importance of to my father over and over. But his reply "that won't help me". He would take the meds like that would be all he needed to do. Started therapy for a couple of sessions before his suicide attempt only cause I had him promise to give it a try for a couple sessions.
I would encourage him all the time to get out and do things he enjoys. His reply many times would be "but you have to feel like doing it in the first place".
Once he comes home I truly hope he will now see how all of those things in combination can help him have the outcomes we so wish for him.

Somewhat fair comparison.
Yet, I like Bourdain beyond politics and this situation is a kinda sad.
If it were Olbermann I’d be dancing a jig in the street.

You are a miserable person.

I don't think a person should ever try to sum up their life in a quote. But Bourdain seemed to hit the nail on the head with his.
"I should’ve died in my 20s. I became successful in my 40s. I became a dad in my 50s. I feel like I’ve stolen a car — a really nice car — and I keep looking in the rearview mirror for flashing lights. But nothing yet."

It is. Just goes to show how deep the lack of understanding goes with mental health. Counseling should be mandatory for every person on earth. Successful therapy could even eliminate the need for medicine in some cases.
Even some that think they get it, don’t really. At least they’re trying though.
