Yep. Hell, Slaughter is still a project at the college level.
Hopefully Slaughter comes back though. He has all the tools to be a legit power hitter in college. Just needs to figure it out at the plate. He did have a pretty good year at the very end, so hopefully that carries over into next year.
Slaughter actually raised his average from like .215 to .254 down the stretch. Something to build on at least.

Who is going to draft him? The only position he's good at is 1st base & he's a .250 hitter.

So you think a team will pay him a large signing bonus because he's a head case and not getting better in the SEC?

I didn’t even realize Slaughter was draftable this year.

Sanders is gone. He has the stuff and will have zero bargaining power coming back next year.
Was the tv wrong the other day or something? Throwing in the high 80s and sucking doesnt equal to "he gone".

2 things I have a rough time wrapping my head around....how Alabama convinces first round Jr's to stay another year in football, and how Florida (Vandy too to some extent) convinces 1st round pitchers to not go pro and play for 3 years in baseball.
But somehow they do it.
Dude I'm so with you on this, I don't get it either.

This is more the exception than the ruleZ they have a lot of 1st round JRs leave.

Expect about the same next year

I guess I'm just not in the boat that Jake wants to quit on his teammates for 30k as a sophomore.

How do you know sanders is definitely coming back?

Gilbert having a sub par year hurt as bad as any injury. His shoulder injury will heal with rest and he should be back at full strength next year. I spoke to his dad about it.

Not so sure about that, but I won't argue it. He could improve his stock with another year for sure, but, as you said, that could be offset by not being able to leverage the possibility of coming back for his senior year. It depends on which is greater and, more importantly, where he is drafted and his slot money this year. We'll see.

Webre gone, that's why he didn't make the trip....that's from a very reliable source...he not returning to team....

That would be very disappointing.
I'm starting to feel like these players coming from Lafayette are getting pressure to leave LSU because they're not "getting the PT they deserve." It's becoming too common to be a coincidence.

Damn. I thought he had a chance to earn some playing time next year. He showed flashes at times, just inconsistent.

Maybe next year will be different, but he didn't look like a great SS when he played this year
Which of the three games in which he was playing hurt didn’t he look good in? I’m not saying he’s going to be the next Bergman, but we surely didn’t see enough to say he’s not good.
