I like a mix as well.

I love the type of team we had last season.. lots of speed but still had guys like Diechmann and Pap who could park the ball in key spots.

Regardless of injury, LSU should never have a SS hitting as bad as Hughes is.. and they certainly should never have a 8 and 9 hole combo hitting this bad for such a long stretch.

Yes I forget who we had on that 2009 team that was that led the nation in homeruns and guys like Mahtook, Chad Jones, and the other the other football player that I completely forgot his name too lol. Point is that I keep going back to that 09 team is because it was Paul's team! He changed the way he recruits and I think it's the missing link besides maybe this year's team where we need more talent across the board.

Agreed.

No real leader. Pitching is down. Lots of young players.

Hess and Watson aren’t ready for the draft either.

Matt Clark I think was his name. It might have been 2008 team though, but both those teams had power and hella speed.

Matt Clark was tied for HRs in 2008 with the SS from UGA. 28

Also 2009 was the last year before they changed to BBCor. Didn’t matter how big guys were, the ball was still flying off those composite BESR bats. I think LSU used Easton SV12’s that year. Those things were ridiculous.

Deichman hit 19 last year. Cabrera has shown flashes of power as a freshman. Smith was probably our double digit homer guy this year but he was hurt. Slaughter has 8 and can be a 10 homer guy next year with Cabrera. Watson also had a down year from last year There's power hitters in the lineup they just haven't produced as expected this year.

Yeah and he was also 6'5 230 lbs of power which leads me to my original point. LSU used to recruit guys like this that could change games and intimidate the hell out of opponents. We also used to have guys that would do circus catches in the outfield that would fire the team up too. He's actually a coach on the team now.

Isn't Storz like 6'6"?
