The biggest difference from the 09 team compared to all other teams since then is power. Other than this season we have always had great pitchers and 2 strong aces. The one thing that's really aggravated me though is that we used to have football build guys in our line-up that could hit the ball out the park. Now it seems like we recruit frigging 5'6 guys that look like they could get beat up by the softball players. What happened to the gorilla ball days and the 2 sport athletes on our teams?

Paul doesn’t recruit big athletes anymore. He wants the players to look like him.

Problem is they still can’t play small ball (bunting)

The biggest differences are veteran players and health.

It's funny that he makes the comment about us only recruiting 5'6" guys when we don't actually have any. But the best player on the field for either team is the 5'6" guy for Oregon st.

I was exaggerating dickhead. Don't get pissed at me cause we're losing and you're having a bad night. I'm sure you got my point but wanted to be special. It's okay I'm not mad.

Because he doesn’t want to play small ball (bunting). He want to get speed and athleticism on the field and steal bases, do hit and runs, hit the balls in the gap and play great defense.

We finished 25th in HR/game in 09. It ain’t a lack of power.

So you don't think we need more power? I'm glad you're happy with the crappy hitting over the years and all the fire Javi threads.

FIFY: The biggest difference from the 09 team is talent.

I understand that, but we used to pride ourselves on our power teams while the others played small ball. Not that I'm against small ball and what you said, but I would like a few power hitters. All I was trying to say lol.

Power bats used to win in college baseball. Now power pitching wins in college baseball.

100% agree. LSU used to be a bunch of DUDES. You look around the league and most of the teams you see have grown arse men. We look like little boys. I like having the athletes but we need a better balance.

We should have some power next season.

The guy from John Curtis is a big boy and Storz, if they ever let hit.. is a big dude with pop.. plus Slaughter will be a Junior? Hopefully he finally gets to his potential.
