New government data shows that roughly 100 million people in this country are now obese, a “sharp increase” from the previous decade. These numbers — the latest from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey — put the rate of obese adults at 39.6 percent. It is also a significant rise from statistics about American obesity just ten years ago.

According to the NHANES data, 41.1 percent of women and 37.9 of men are now obese. But prevalence of Class 3 obesity (the CDC’s term for “severely” obese people 100 pounds or more overweight, or with a BMI above 40) is also skyrocketing. New data show that about 8 percent of adults now fall into Class 3, up from less than 6 percent in 2007.

Most ads during sports games these days involve junk food. Researchers just looked at the events kids watch in particular, and found that 76 percent of the foods shown are unhealthy, and 52 percent of advertised nonalcoholic drinks have added sugars. This past NFL season was also the first that allowed hard-liquor brands to buy ads during games.

Yeah years ago I was embarrassed going out in public weighing over 300 pounds but nowadays not nearly as many people look me the way they use to. Don’t get me wrong weighing as much as I do sucks but I’ve gotten used to the stares and just ignore them.
Now what does suck is this heat. I can’t stand up too long or I’ll get overheated and have to find a place to sit. Man it is hot

I love a good fat bashing thread

Comments like that are really unnecessary
Nobody likes being fat but once you put the weight on it’s so hard to lose it. Everyday is a struggle

So your solution is to let society change they way they look at you over time versus actually improving what you are self conscious about?
Why?
Why?

I'd love to see the data by state. The obesity rate is probably closer to 60% in the southern states.

Not contributing to the any of these statistics
Posted on 6/2/18 at 2:59 pm to TigerTalker16
That's because people are now supporting being fat as a normal thing. Meanwhile it's ruining this country with increased health costs

The obesity rate at your average LSU football game is close to 75%

What makes this even worse is the fact women only get 78 calories for every 100 a man gets.

Horse shite. No different than smokers. If you want to quit, you can quit. I'm sure there are figures somewhere of how much money these people cost us.

Love it. The more fat people the better. Less competition.
