What?

So people's genes have altered significantly in the last 50 years?

Totally agree with you, and we now know that there is no such thing as a “take this pill to lose all your body fat” type supplement that has been advertised in the past. There are thousands of resources out there to look at the latest studies on the efficacies of various supplements. A few that certainly work (but are not a substitute for calories in / out, good diet)

Protein powder
Creatine
BCAA powder
Fish Oil
Vitamin D/k2

Shop the outside of the grocery store and you can basically eat as much as you want and maintain a healthy weight.

Switch from sugar drinks to water, ICED tea and club soda and you can cut massive amounts of weight.

Switch from beer to liquor and avoid sugary mixers and you will see a significant reduction in weight.

It isn’t complicated. Sugar and carbs are very bad for you. Vegetables and lean protein need to be the vast majority of your diet. If you don’t follow this advice you will either be hungry or fat before you are 50.

If you want an incentive if you maintain a healthy weight you can basically have your pick of dates by the time you hit 40 because most everyone else in your demographic will be fat, married or have issues of some sort.

I’d venture a guess that the argument for eating out being cheaper is based on pizza and value menus, and not snapper and turnips.

Yeah, you can grab 20 nuggets for $3.50 at most of the fast food places.

why is it a terrible example? I could give hundreds at lower price points--i just gave my most recent personal one.

i get your point, but just trickle the example down to poorer people.

As mentioned, I grocery shop every Wednesday. I work from home, and I'm the health nut of the family, so I'm best suited to be the housewife in this (and other) respects. yes, cuck, beta, whatever.

I do Sprouts (double ad Wed), Walmart and Aldi because each has shite that the other doesn't, and they're all within a stone's throw of one another.

The amount of healthy shite I can get at those three stores for $150 is insane, and that includes stuff that doesn't require a lot of preparation.

Some e.g.s from my last trip that may better meet your approval:
Avocados: 39cents
Organic spinach/arugula mix: $2
Uncured bacon (I'm not a believer in the added nitrate/ite scare but I hedge my bets for an extra buck or so): $4
Giant pack of skin-on chicken thighs: $4
Grass-fed beef: $3.99/lb (gf not really necessary)
Cage-free eggs (again, I do cage-free and omega 3, but not necessary): $2.50/doz
Choice Ribeyes $7.99/lb (walmart has awesome ribeyes and they always mark them down on Mondays)
Cauliflower: $1.29/lb
Stawberries: $1.50/pint

I grow my own broccoli sprouts--take very little effort and I just bought 3lbs of seeds for $45. That is enough broccoli sprouts for a year! Loaded with sulforaphane.

Coffee--organic whole bean, single origin for $6-8/lb (i like organic coffee due to the amount of pesticides used on regular, but again you can get a huge can of coffee for beans, as it were.)

Dark chocolate--lindt 80% cacao is always $1.79/bar at walmart.

I'll hit Trader Joe's once in a while to get nuts (esp macadamias--theirs are good and cheap)

i could continue listing healthy choices that are easier, cheaper and exponentially more nutritious than your typical fast food.

And thanks to health care, we have to subsidize their lifestyles.

see my e.g. re: chicken thighs.

No shitty oil, no flour and whatever else they use, no "parts is parts," and all you do is throw them in a pan. I put a little bacon grease (byproduct) or avocado oil (that's a little pricey but not terrible at Costco/Sam's/WM, and it only takes a tad), skin-side down, render some chicken fat, flip em, then flip again and make it crispy with higher heat.

buy a bunch at $1/lb (I just checked and they're .99/lb at Sam's all the time). Freeze. You've just saved multiple trips to fast-food places and drive-through lines and that's a lot cheaper and infinitely healthier.

If you want to save some time and reduce your fat intake further we picked up an air fryer and use it all the time.

Gives you the crispy outside finish without needing to pan fry or deep fry with a fraction of the oil/fat.

Take chicken thighs, spray with olive oil, sprinkle on herbs or seasoning and throw it in. 12 minutes later it comes out perfectly finished without needing any attention.

i definitely do not want to do this. i'm always looking for ways to get MORE unprocessed non-PUFA fats.

but the air fryer sounds good and easy!

Weight lifters and girls with huge chests are the only two with a legit complaint.

What makes this even worse is the fact women only get 78 calories for every 100 a man gets.

This comment needs more appreciation.

The Rock has a BMI of 31.1, which is barely in the obese range. Sorry baw but you’re fat.
