re: How tone deaf is Joe Alleva when it comes to this corporate tailgating company?

Exactly, they have worked themselves up to believe they will be COMPELLED to use this service, that wont happen. The reality is this is the future for a lot of people who come to one or two games a year and dont want to frick with hauling, set up, breakdown and hauling.

Do you want a competitive program not? Sorry that costs money
How fricking dumb are you to take that from what I said? I want concessions that aren’t dog shite for premium pricing. I’ve never advocated “cheap”, but Alleva takes the pricing through the roof and we’re getting the lowest quality product in return. And even then, how exactly does jacking up concession prices even give us an “elite program” in your opinion? I’d genuinely like to hear your stupid arse try to explain that one considering the fact that Aramark is keeping a huge percentage of the profits anyway. Guess Aramark = LSU right genius?

You said he monetized parking and concessions. Please note I didn’t literally think you wanted concessions for free.

In other words you want a new Mercedes for the price of a used Corolla This is nothing more than bitching to bitch. Have you ever been to games in other stadiums? Serious question. The pricing at TS is not out of line. Pro stadiums have in recent years upgraded concessions though it costs more and they do use those stadiums for a lot more.

You clearly an angry bitter person that’s impossible to talk logic with. You want an elite program but then you gripe about prices or monetizing things. This thread is about having an official tailgate sponsor people are bitching about it and other corporate sponsors but then will whine if the AD goes cheap, it’s contradictory.
As for the concessions i don’t know the financials or how the deals work, that wasn’t the point, of course you missed the point in your angry zeal, However, if LSU is not getting a reasonable amount for the concessions or an amount in line with other programs that’s a different argument. While i don’t know exactly how their business works I’d guess Alleva doesn’t dictate the prices, especially if the lions share goes to Aramark.
But you keep on being angry

You act like the money that is being gouged from the fans is going into making the program better
We paid peanuts for the worst coach in Ole Miss history
Dont act like that money is directly related to the team being any better

This is what will happen. The area will be empty for SELU, Rice, La. Tech, etc. Then it will book up for Bama, Ole Miss & UGA. This is not sustainable with the way people have been bailing on the shitty non-conference schedule. That's why they're only selling full season and 3 game packages right now. They're forcing people to spend the money on at least one of those OOC games.

Don't throw out pro stadiums to make an argument. Go to some SEC stadiums. The product being put out of the concession stands in Tiger Stadium is a fricking joke. People don't mind spending money in that stadium. They do mind getting cold hot dogs and hamburger or running out of water in fricking September when it's 110°.

It would have been far better optics to make that choice if available. But, Alleva is not known for his wonderful decision making.

No, in other words I want premium products at premium prices. You’re clearly too stupid to have a legitimate conversation with so why are you still talking? I can 100% guarantee that I pay a lot more in TAF fees and season tickets per year than you do, and I can also guarantee that I outspend you by a wide margin over the course of the football season. That being said, the pricing in tiger stadium IS out of line considering the quality of product and service that we receive. I’m actually amazed that someone is sitting there defending our concessions of all things, like do you even go to LSU football games?
You’re just a typical rantard moron who doesn’t know what you’re talking about, but absolutely can’t resist jumping into a conversation to make some dipshit snarky comment, so you have to put words in other people’s mouths and then proceed to cry like a little bitch because they’re “mad” when you’re asked to explain your pointless drivel.
I’ve never implied absolutely anything that you said I did. You don’t know me or my views on leisure spending, and you certainly don’t know how much I spend on LSU football to be accusing me of wanting something for nothing, but you want me to respond to your idiotic random accusations with legitimate discussion? Go frick yourself

No one has to use it.
It’s more for out of town people who are either flying in and can’t being all the equipment and whatnots needed to tailgate or go to one game a year and it doesn’t make sense to buy a trailer/tent/ice chests etc.

Not at those prices. This is solely aimed at corporate money. Someone that wants a guaranteed space every game to entertain. I just don't know how that will sell a 1/2 mile away from the stadium with almost zero parking.

Joe's not generously avoiding ticket price hikes. LSU doesn't even sell out all of the home games anymore. Prices are as high as the fanbase will support right now.

Yep. East Upper tickets haven't seen an increase and even had the TAF fee removed from all of the bleacher seating to try to retain those season tickets.

It’s one of the few topics everyone agrees on. Joe alleva sucks dick.
He makes pathetic hires, has pathetic searches, and ruins everything.
He should have never been hired

I assume you mean the money for concessions? If so, no that in and of itself doesn’t go into the program. You guys bitching about are just yelling at raindrops however. The prices at LSU are not any different than anywhere. It’s not even unique to sports. Ever hear someone say the concessions at movie theaters or concert venues are cheap? But yet you to bash Alleva for it, It’s stupid. There’s an economist named Steve Landsburg that explains why but don’t let facts ruin your bitch fest.
But you also completely missed the point.. THE OP IS BITCHING ABOUT A CORP SPONSOR. If you don’t want sponsors, don’t want to pay to park well then don’t bitch that the AD went cheap on the HC

Congrats im really impressed. BTW when you have to call others stupid and then brag about how much you spend.
Your post reeks of irrationality. You now say you want premium confessions at premium prices, originally you complained about monetizing parking and concessions that’s 2 different arguments, amazing that someone too smart for me doesn’t understand that. Since you have such a deep understanding of the concessions business model prehaps you could give suggestions on a)what you’d like to see and b) what the prices should be. Also could you provide some evidence that the concessions at LSU are higher priced than other colleges and what other on campus stadiums have so much better quality offerings?

I obviously touched a nerve and I’m not mad, so it would seem you are doing the thing you accuse me off. My “pointless”’drivel was explained you are just too angry and apparently insecure to read it and just resort to name calling, clearly signs of a rational mind
As for what you spend I don’t care it also has nothing to do with my original snarky response. You mentioned monetizing, your word not mine

This guy just doesn’t get it. You jack up prices to park around campus and then bring in this bullshite. Give tailgating back to the fans, not to some corporate shills.
Again, the guy doesn’t get it. Making a quick buck will have him losing money in the long term. Another example of his incompetence.
But I shouldn’t be surprised by this point.
Tennessee started doing this a few years ago. It's honestly not a bad deal. You pay a price and someone else sets up your tailgate for you with a TV, tent, chairs, grill, etc. I fail to see how this is a bad thing for LSU or fans who may not have the ability to set up a tailgate every week.

This isn't true. My wife's uncle does this for two games a year at UT with his friends from college and almost everyone around their tailgate were just normal fans. Most of them are normal people who only go to a game or two a year, want to tailgate, but don't have all the equipment and aren't going to buy all of it if they're not setting up a tailgate every week.

Im not defending it per se im just saying it’s not out of line PRICE wise was with other stadiums. If you think so provide some evidence. Quality is purely subjective.
I rarely if ever buy food at any stadium I eat before I go especially football games where the tailgates i go to have excellent food For the 1 or 2 games at TS i go to I buy Coke for mixed drinks I’d buy beer if they sold it.
