Exactly, and it will never be restored. Too much has changed.

Well LSU really isn't considered a blue blood like the ones listed are.

Blue Bloods don’t hire head coaches who failed miserably at lesser schools

You are most likely right about that. Has any one of those programs ever hired a head coach with a losing record?

Yeah, I don’t know one blue blood that would have hired Ed Orgeron. That speaks volumes

USC (a blue blood), in fact, said “no” to Coach O.

Of the recognized blue bloods, Paul Hackett is the only one I can think of.

John Blake was a career DL coach when OU hired him, although he hadn't been a HC before.

I might have missed somebody, but there aren't many comparable scenarios to ours.

Would a blue blood program hire Eddy O?

We are not a "blue blood". It takes more of a history and better consistency over the decades to be blue blood.

We are a potential powerhouse anytime we put the talent and coaching together. In our best years we can beat any blue blood out there.

Gene Stallings had a losing record at Texas A&M and the NFL Phoenix Cardinals. A&M hired him when he was only 28 yrs old and he did when a SWC Championship during his tenure. Stallings played for Bear Bryant at A&M and was an assistant under him at Bama. I would say he was a questionable hire for Bama at the time, but still far more qualified that Ed O.

Gene Stallings

Can't believe I forgot about him. He's really the only example of a head coach who won a national championship after failing at his first job.

And like you said, he was a Junction Boy and actually won the SWC one year, so he had a little more clout behind him.

That's about right. We started working our way in there, but...

There are only a handful of blue bloods in CFB. LSU is not among them.

Miami at 50% is laughable though.

An argument can be made for:

50% FSU

Whatever the parameters you may have in mind for not including LSU as a blue blood in the long history of college football, that's fine. But there is no way that a team that didn't belong to a real conference until 1992, with 241 less victories has a better argument than LSU does. Miami also has 77 more total victories and 2 more NC's than FSU. An argument can be made for FSU but Miami is laughable?

So? As long as recruits do, we’re good. I don’t care what a thimble full of guys answering an online poll think.

Is the U one of the only schools to win multiple NC’s in the 80s, 90s, and 00’s?

Am I the only person that doesn’t think Florida State belongs anywhere near this fricking list?

They were all an girls school while these blue bloods were winning titles. They’re new money as frick. They are 80th in all time wins.

LSU is right where they should be in that list. They are 13th all-time in win percentage of the big schools(I'm not counting Boise state and old dominion).

Michigan
Boise State
Ohio State
Notre Dame
Alabama
Oklahoma
Texas
USCw
Nebraska
Penn State
Florida State
Old Dominion
Georgia
LSU

And the shite about counting and touting national championships needs to stop because before the BCS era none of us really know who the true national champions were because they were picked by journalist and other cabals of biased shite stains.

LSU and Alabama or two perfect examples. Everyone knows Alabama claims way more than they actually deserve and some that are absolutely indefensible and ridiculous and there's actually two or three that LSU could have claimed in the early part of it 20th century but for some reason refuse to. Especially the 1908 one. Even the National Championship foundation and the NCAA recognize the 1908 team as the co-national champion and National Champion, respectively.
