You’re being emotional, he’s being objective. My link below is a thread showing returning production. LSU ranks 122 in the country. If you’re being objective and ineltellectually honest, you would see that he’s probably right and that this could set up as a rough season due to inexperience. 2019 should be much different.

That's based on offensive skill players only

We know we're replacing all of those

Question marks there to be sure but it's not like there is no talent. And Burrow could inject talent and leadership to the offense.

We have at least a high draft pick at every level. Lawrence, White, and Willliams is a pretty good way to start a defense. Also, depth in the front 7 will be there for the first time in a long time.

Glenn Guilbeau and the word objective will never go together.

Lack of returning production does not mean untalented, or even inexperienced in this case.

There's a couple ways to look at this. But overall, yep- this is where coaches earn their pay, or fail miserably.

One way of looking at it...
- we lose THE key producers all over the offense: top-2 WRs, a QB, top-2 RB, both our starting tackles (at begining of 2017), and our highest graded OL at C.

On defense a starting CB, the rotational CB, alot of the DL.

The other way of looking at it...
It's not like we're replacing many of those with freshmen. In fact, last year they were freshmen in many cases and while they didn't perform well in most cases they've got some experience now and some time to develop physicall [here comes the "excuses" and "goal-posts" chants by Rantifa].

In a couple of places we may improve with the replacement. Example: while he hasn't played a game, Shelvin has 1.25 years of practice behind him and should be an upgrade. Giles and Lewis should be productive transfers, possibly upgrades. Chaisson is also a good example.

So while there's been turnover of starters, there has been "prep" for that. To me, it is still a worry, but mainly in spots (QB, RB, RT, CB).

Let's not let the facts get in line with you biases. LSU was top 5 last year in Freshmen and RS freshmen snap counts. We had young players get good minutes at LB And in the defensive backfield. THey weren't "starters" per your stupid stat, but they played and it will pay off next year.

Our CBs are thin, but we have some safeties that can cover like CBS. Our nickel and dime cover guys were likely to be safties anyway, and not corners.

LB looks fine as White solidifies that unit, and the young soph Georgia boys look to be really talented.

And while we lost some veterans, some of the transfers should help, especially along the OL for depth and at DL & WR as well. Your adding Feheko and Shelvin along the line both who didnt play last year. Giles has already garnered #7.

I would say he's being obtuse. As others have said, we have a potential All-American at corner back, a grad transfer, a former high 4* fifth year guy in Ed Paris and handful of former 4* sophomores who will get their chance to shine. True a lot of them are unproven, but you know who else was unproven at this time last year? Greedy Williams. And he showed out in week one and kept it up all year. It's not that far fetched to assume that at least one or two of the great athletes that we have available will be able to do the same this year.

As for RB, yeah, we are really thin, obviously, but we have a ton of play makers on offense. It's up to the offensive staff to put those guys in position to make plays.

But that's just Guilbeau's shtick. To spew a bunch of negative nonsense and call it objectivity.

Objective my arse. He said talent level not production. Replacing production with talent is what big programs do. The statement that LSU is the least talented they have been since Saban arrived is absolutely ridiculous and not true by any metric.

I was kinda with him on the win/loss record until we got Burrow a few days ago. A good QB can mask a lot of problems. If the OL does need a little time to fully get set, he's very mobile and able to work around that. We don't have a Fournette or Guice, but CEH will be good and once we get Curry, we'll have a decent run game. WR and TE is loaded. Moreau is experienced, Giles is experienced, and we have guys who have at least played on the field the past two years. Jefferson looks like he could be a breakout freshman, and that's not even including the 5 star freshman in Marshall.

Front 7 will be loaded with future All American White destroying and directing, I don't have to say too much more about that. Safety position is the best in the country by far. Nobody boasts the depth and talent that we do there. I have a feeling that Vincent will be a solid CB opposite future All American Greedy, so the CB depth will be masked a bit (but still prepare to give up some big TDs with the backups).

All in all Burrow turns this team from 6-6/7-5 to 9-3/10-2. His presence will give us a big push in swing games vs UF, Miami, Auburn, and Miss St. Now we still might lose to Auburn being that the game is so early in the season, and on the road, but I think we can finish out strong and have a good look towards the 2019 season. Hell, maybe we upset one of UGA/Bama.
