Pixel 2 XL or S9+

In the market for a phone. Pixel 2 XL or S9+? Looking for it to do all the basics well plus other features. Anything different between the phones or either will be a fantastic choice?

I've heard that the Pixel 2 XL takes the best photos in 2017 and 2018 for 95% of ones photos. Also it gets the latest Android versions, whereas the Samsungs and others are slower to get the releases.
Do you have a Samsung Gear S3 watch? If so, definitely go the Samsung phone as their Samsung Pay is vastly superior to everything currently.

Do you value a headphone jack? The Pixel doesn't have one but besides that, it's definitely the best overall phone experience.

I haven't used the S9, so I can't say much about it.
However, I have a Pixel 1 XL and love it. Unlimited storage of photos/videos at native resolution on Google Photos as long as they are uploaded from the phone.
You get Android updates quicker because they don't have to get the manufacturer's tweaks included. You also get a pure Android experience without the bloatware crap the other manufacturers put on.

All I can say is the pixel 2xl has been the best phone I've owned by a wide margin. I can't speak to the s9 as I have limited experience with Samsung.

I had the Pixel XL and currently have the Pixel 2XL and will probably never buy anything but phones straight from Google ever again. Best phones I have ever owned or used.

I've had a Nexus 5x for 2 years and ordered the Pixel 2 XL 10 days or so ago. Bought it thru Best Buy on Verizon for $500 off. That promo is over but it seems like they'll put out a new one every week or so. Between the carriers best buy or Google you should be able to get a good deal on Pixel.

My buddy loves his pixel 2 xl. I wouldn't sleep on OnePlus either. Easily the best phone I've ever had.

The OnePlus 6 looks great from everything I have seen on it so far. If not for the Pixels and the fact that I use Google Fi for my carrier due to being overseas more than I am in the states I would probably buy one.
