What’s it usually take to get in the FL am?
You’ll do fine. Just get your putting and chipping in line and relax. Couple drinks always helps too!

74 (par 72) got in last year at the site I am playing at next week.
I'm not a long hitter, so hitting from ~7000 yards does hurt a bit. I try to pick my battles and work on distance when I can. I've only been playing seriously for just a bit over two years, so I know it'll all come along. I was happy about my 82 at the Mid-Am qualifier considering it was the week of my wedding and I made 10 bogeys and didn't have a blow up hole, my chipping and putting were great, but only hit 5 greens that day.
The goal is always to hit at least 9 greens, which I do regularly in casual rounds, but tournament rounds are just so different, which is why I am trying to take advantage of playing in more tournament conditions this year... and may take a stab at qualifying for the U.S. Mid-Am if I am playing well at the end of the summer.

State AM @ BRCC
I'm pretty surprised this is going to happen. What's BRCC's incentive to hosting this event?

Got married and just got back from honeymoon, now it's suppose to rain every day until the qualifier.
Congrats man!
Good luck at the qualifier.

No real incentive I suppose. But it will be the 100th State Am.

I'm just surprised their membership was willing to give up their club for 4 days along with the amount of play the course and driving range will get.

I shot 68 in HS tournaments twice.
I played my arse off at Memorial Park in Houston to shoot 69-72 in the US Pub Links qualifier 10 years ago. Unfortunately, I still got beat by 5 college kids.

Silver Lakes golf Course
Haven't played there since they had that big storm go through a few years ago. Just remember that the greens were tough. If you hit onto the wrong level you were screwed

Never played in an event.
Shot a 78 once.
I've shot a 30 on the front 9 before.
But I usually have a good front 9 and then fade at the end.
I did birdie the 18th the first time I broke 90.

LOL At people who look at this as the be all end all of a golf round.

So you shot a 48 or higher on the back?

Uh... the lowest score is what counts.... I am not sure what you're trying to say here.

Lowest 18 hole round 71 (par 71)
I have several at that course but never broken par on 18 holes.
Played 9 holes with a buddy 1 time right before dark and shot (-3) 32 (par 35 on the front 9)... He shot 30 that day.

I think I shot an 80.
I felt the pressure of breaking par on the tee box at 10...(and later just shooting in the 70's), and I never recovered. Oh well.
