I guess I never think of stuff being a 2-stroke anymore. Hell, a lot of weedeaters and blowers are too

I’ve been putting a can in each tank of gas in my direct injected two stroke. Trying to avoid excess carbon buildup.

Over the years i have determined that if seafoam will not fix it, it is time to take it apart! Has saved a few of these new non servicable carbs for me at least. Every year i run the same type of heavy mix on my RV generator. At 1800 hrs we pulled the heads to do the Onan recomended decarb, didnt need to do anything they were very clean.

I run it on that mix until it gets up to temp, shut it down and let it sit for about 30 min. Reastart it and smoke out the neighborhood for a little while. Runs like a top after that.

Is Seafoam any different than TruFuel-type products? I had an Stihl blower that was a bitch to start. I bought a can of Stihl fuel for $9.99. The entire situation played out just like yours. Lots of smoke then eventually ran like a banshee. I never bothered with mixed gas for lawn equipment again.

I don't think seafoam is anything like tru fuel.

however, I did have the same experience that you had on a couple of stihl trimmers. I filled them both with trufuel and ran the shite out of them....they ran rough at first but eventually leveled out and run good now.
