g, told me a “far more significant issue” is whether the earlier FBI operation was even legal: “It’s possible the bureau’s arrangement with Mr. Deripaska violated the Antideficiency Act, which prohibits the government from accepting voluntary services.”
no one has ever been convicted or indicted of this Act in its 120 year history
so good luck hanging on this one

Yeah, it probably won't stick, but this definitely doesn't look good for the investigation

quote:I doubt the 8 diplomatic visas were offered by the DOJ (probably state department), and since they were from 2011, those were likely approved John Kerry's state department since Hillary and Mueller were replaced in 2013.
On 8 occasions?

Well, it is all true. There is a book out there detailing the entire operation.
This just falls right into the hands of Manafort. The judge specifically called out Muellers team for selective prosecution of Manafort as a means to get at Trump. Now Manafort can point to this Russian oligarch being left out of his indictment, because Mueller had reason to protect him
That judge is just gonna LOVE to hear this

Mueller may have a conflict
Nah not based upon what’s included in that opinion piece.

List for me the people convicted of election 'collusion' in the last 120 years?
Yet theres a 2 year investigation underway??

The bigger implications are onto Mueller and this investigation, not potential legal ramifications for him.

HA! So, they call out 2011 and your defense of HRC is well.. it was under Kerry 2 years later?

Collusion, with a side order of obstruction.

quote:Well it doesn't give many details (when they started in 2011; when they were provided; what was the basis for them), so the person who was in the position longer would seem to be the more likely person to approve the majority of them. More details could clear that up though. But you can throw in Hillary too, it just seemed Kerry was likely the one who approved the majority.

The Bob Levinson case is fascinating. I feel so bad for the poor guy and his family. He’s probably dead by now unfortunately.

Deripaska did enter the United States a handful of times using a diplomatic passport, issued to him by the Russian government so he could help assist at summit meetings and other trade missions, according to documents filed in the New York court case.

How did the FBI get Deripaska to spring for this? Just the visa? $25 million sounds steep to enter the U.S. a handful of times. Seems like the antideficiency act argument is weird. It's illegal to make for the FBI to get in-kind cooperation from a foreign national? They have to pay him currency through a government contract?

Time is not on Meuller's side; from the beginning, the very idea that He would *investigate* Trump's links with Russia...but not Hillary's, totally de-legitimizes the whole sordid scenario as being just what Trump labels it... "a witchhunt".
It's hard to believe that a Man as supposedly smart (not to mention patriotic/honorable) as Meuller, would go down this rathole. Especially if He despised the corruption in the Obama Cabal enough so that He resigned.
Will be interesting to see this all unfold. A big crash and burn is coming.
