Am I trashy for wanting to live in a trailer?

Being single and no kids, I don’t want to go spend a fortune on a home and don’t like the lack of privacy that comes with an apartment.
Financially, it makes more sense to buy some land and pay cash for a nice trailer. I don’t see why this is any worse than living in a cookie cutter home not built very well or living in a 700 sq ft box that’s part of a complex.

Def not....
Pay that land off quick, then live in trailer while you build a house on said land
Profit

You may not be trashy, but your neighbor who lives in a trailer beside you and is a meth-head will be trashy.
Get some acres with a water source like a creek or spring
and live the dream.

If I were single and looking for a place, I would find a cheap fixer-upper that is the ugliest house inna decent neighborhood and get to work on it. Live there 6 months, renovate, sell, profit and do it again somewhere else. But what do I know?

Get some land
Get a yurt

Well for starters, the cookie cutter home's stones aren't made of paper mache.

Nah. Just be aware that it depreciates like a vehicle

They’re actually built much better these days and don’t look completely terrible inside.

Nope. My RV cost 3x of my double wide.

Seriously? You never had a friend live in one while in college or while they were saving up to build a house... or something?

a trailer is only trashy if you have a lawn and a living room, b/c they suck
Posted on 5/12/18 at 7:28 pm to PortHudsonPlaya
No.
The trailers they make now are so nice now days.
What my friend said.

It’s a bad investment. Get a smaller house that will gain value, not lose it

Manufactured houses are not trashy.
