When Its idle, the car temp gauge starts increasing and the AC goes out ( fan still blows, just not cold).

WTF

Start driving, temp goes down and it starts working again.

Should I just not stop at stop signs and red lights?

Sounds like a lack of airflow through your condenser at idle. Check to make sure your cooling fans are running while the ac is on and the compressor is engaged.

Also look behind your grille and make sure the condenser it not covered with bugs and grass.

Sounds like you're low on blinker fluid.

You probably have 2 electric fans blowing on your radiator. 1 or both is out. Pop your hood and look.

Water pump bad or blockage in lines preventing coolant from circulating in engine?

I would guess fan and lack of cooling air flow as mentioned above. Could possibly be belt slipping on compressor also. Had this problem after getting a detail done on my truck. They sprayed that greasy shiny shite under the hood and had the belt slipping at idle but once moving the rpm made up for the slip.

You haven't given us enough information to diagnose the vehicle.

I might would start with the belt. It could be slipping, which would cause your water pump and ac compressor to have issues. Otherwise, these issues might be separate problems.

Definitely make sure that your condenser and radiator aren't covered with bullshite.

Losing any water?
Ac compressor cycling?

Low side and high side pressures would be great if you can hook up some gauges.

You probably need new condensor fans

And you probably are driving a Honda.

Maybe bad fan clutch (if you have a fan with one). Sounds similar to what you describe.
