1. How often lately has the national champ led in homers
2. There are these things called “bats” that have changed since Skip was around. Everyone wasn’t 6’6” 250lbs

They certainly help, otherwise why was Mcguire, Bonds, et al taking roids?

Good point. I don't know but I'd love to hear some theories on it.

Doesn't steroids also increase your reflexes? Maybe that's what it was about and the big muscles just came with it.

Barbier was 190 in his chest.

Fontenot was built like a tank. You telling me cole freeman was bigger than him? Lol

I guess you’ll tell me chad Cooley and Jason Williams were both under 190 too?

Watson is Wes Davis. Fast outfielder with pop if you give it to him middle in but hit in the bottom 3. Watson hits in the middle for us. There’s your difference.

I do agree that we needed to get craftier because of the dead bats and new ameritrade though.

I think Kyle Koeneman was Paul Mainieri's best Power Hitter, since he's been in Baton Rouge

Damn felt like 2008 would’ve been the Year with Clark and Dean hitting over 20 and Schimpf chipping in like 10 . Even LeMahieu hit like 10 that year and as a team over 100 homeruns .

I’m guessing there’s an inside joke I’m missing in there somewhere.

The bats have nothing to do with Leading the SEC in HR’s. Someone has to lead the league regardless of what kind of bat is used.

Well, obviously. I was just pointing out that the new Box is not the launching pad of the old one—it plays bigger with the same dimensions. Like TD America Trade vs. Rosenblatt, though not nearly that extreme. And there are some ban boxes in the conference where the ball gets out easier. My bats comment was just an aside on why homeruns are down everywhere overall.
