2009 maybe?
I know recruiting guys 5’6” 160 lbs isn’t conducive to hitting homers but they sure are fun to watch.

This thread again.
There was a good article not too long ago about LSU's recruiting philosophy and how they put the team together with today's bats and 35 man roster limits.

I know it wasn't last year, but the results from last year were fantastic!

That’s what it was supposed to be. Phone autocorrect got me. Thanks

The Box is pretty big and I don’t think the ball jumps out of it like it did the old one. Besides the bats, obviously.

Yeah if Zach Watson is 6' then I'm Shaq
Eta: anyone remember when we used to bitch when the CWS was first moved to TD Ameritrade bc we were a HR team that couldnt hit HRs in that park and the small ball teams of the west coast kept whooping arse?

He's every bit of 6 feet. He's just skinny. Regardless, Watson would have absolutely raked with older bats. Kid has a ton of pop regardless of his size. And that's beside the point. People have this idea in their head that all of Skip's players were 6'2" 225 when that couldn't be further from the truth.

The bats have nothing to do with Leading the SEC in HR’s. Someone has to lead the league regardless of what kind of bat is used.

Brandon Larson would pick his teeth with Zach Watson
Posted on 5/4/18 at 5:10 pm to Jack Daniel
So you want Zach Watson to take steroids?

Guy can't even read the roster!

You cannot lead a conference in Home Runs when you are in love with Sacrificing in the early innings.

I dont get it.
A baseball bat weighs around 30 ounces. A baseball weighs around 5 ounces. Why do people think you need to be 6' 3" 235lbs to hit a HR?
Bat speed is what creates energy. The mass is fixed at ~30 ounces. Big muscles arent required to generate bat speed.
Baseball isnt the hammer throw event.

For those who say you can't win National Championships with the Long Ball anymore, Coastal Carolina agrees with you

They are the only team to win a NC in the BBCOR era that would ever be called a power hitting team. But they didn’t just mash in Omaha like they did in the regular season.

They certainly help, otherwise why was Mcguire, Bonds, et al taking roids?
