What keeps a gay boy from growing up to be a man? Gay doesn't mean feminine, just they chase arse of the same team.

All BSA did was make it ok to be gay in their organization without the kid having to fear getting kicked out because they were wired slightly different. That's a good thing.

What really kills Troops is being treated as an after school for kids with ADHD and behavioral problems.

You know when you got one because the kids will be dropped off and the parents never stick around and can't stick em anywhere else.

So you're stuck with a bunch of kids that don't want to be there, don't want to keep the troop or patrol traditions, that will wander off into stupid situations, or some are just outright violent.

So you have an influx of 20 kids and only 4 want to be scouts.

And they stay because their parents want not kid time.

Dunno, guys...We used to go to Edgewood or Avondale for a week each summer and earn merit badges. I think I could've come home with the Heavy Petting badge, and Fingering I-III Skill Awards.

Hell, I may have even come up with an approved Eagle project and not aged-out at Life Scout.

Maybe even Order of the Areola.

You did not comprehend a word of what I wrote.

I said I was a fan of dont ask/dont tell and was fine to keep any boys struggling with their sexuality IN boy scouts.

I have no problem with my son/daughter having a gay teacher, a gay coach, a gay driving instructor, etc. But I am STRONGLY against gay men serving in leadership among boys when it involves camping and hiking in the woods for 2-10 days straight. Its common sense.

I am not saying I am against gay people. I am not saying that gay men are any less "MEN" than straight men.

I am saying that Boy Scouts of America has gone off its message of developing young boys in to strong men - just in an effort to appeal to the SJW's. Which never works out.

So you are saying a gay man is likely to sexually assault a boy. Got it.

But that's exactly what you are saying.

When and if they modify the rank requirements for minorities or women, I will believe you. Until then, you are full of it.

You clearly don't think gay men or women should be involved in Scouts. That's fine. Just admit it and stop trying to weasel-word it.

It's nice that you went a bit further. But the reason don't ask don't tell was never meaningful was it never protected anybody. Someone else could always tell.

Pedophiles are straight, gay, bi. It why the training for adult leadership was always be in pairs never be with a kid by yourself.

The kids don't talk about this shite. The only leadership problem here is because you abandoned helping kids improve with gay cooties excuse.

The program was exactly the same in 2014 as it was in 2013.

It seems like there are a lot of issues being discussed in this thread.

This recent change is no big deal. They tried to change the name 40 years ago (when girls were allowed) but it didn't stick.

Boys and girls have been camping together for 40 years now. Think about that (not a lot of pregnant teens or social media bitching). Half of the youth leadership (16+ year olds) at summer camps are girls who are involved with Venturing, Crew, or Explorers (all part of the Boy Scouts of America). The change last year allowed the girls to earn Eagle with the same requirements as the boys. The name change today reflects that scouting for those age groups are not just boys (and it hasn't been for 40 years).

There you go again. Putting words in my mouth to fit your agenda and calling me a weasel.

Pedophiles come in all shapes and sizes. No one group is more likely to molest children than another. I never said a gay man is more likely to molest a Child than a straight man. But you bet a straight man is more likely to molest a girl than a gay man. And, by simple thought, a gay man is more likely to molest a boy than a straight man.

So what is the best protection for children??

To not have people in an intimate personal relationship with the same gender that they are attracted to.

Not hatred. Logic.

Can boys join the Girl Scouts?

Maybe the non-gender specific scouts of America is next.

I will go ahead and put words in your mouth.

You are against co-ed schools? Churches? Dads coaching softball? Gays coaching men's basketball?

My wife is pissed.

But even my wife recognizes that girl scout administration is a cluster f.

And this name change actually happened about 40 years ago when girls were first allowed (but the name change didn't stick back then).

Perfectly stated. I had been involved in Boy Scout leadership for over a decade and stepped out when the new policies took effect. I was the scoutmaster for almost 100 boys at the time.

That’s really sad. We had the same thing happen in our troop, when they started letting scouts be out of the closet he left. Great dude and his decision to make, but it left a void and a troop of tons of kids (all straight since that’s important) without their leader. This "problem" caused a loss of leadership across the country and i bet 99% of these troops didn’t have a gay kid to worry about (or scout leader either).

Y’all s decision to make it’s just sad that these kids lost so many good leaders over nothing.
