Real deal and worth the money or are you paying for the amenities. Anyone been? Looking at Canada or Missouri

Family member went last year 2nd week of Dec. Shot like 20 the fist day and he didn't fire a shot the following two days. $2,400...ouch. The day after they left it was lights out limits. Mother nature... Said family member is going back this year. I turned down a spot. I'd like to go on a spring goose hunt more than anything.

That's the problem duck guides face. Can't do anything about them all up and leaving one night, and being stuck looking at decoys the next day.

There is a guide here in NE LA I know that trades out a hunt or 2 with them in MO. They usually kill good but they typically go early and then they come here late. You are rolling the dice going late in the season though, but that's typically when the bulk of their green shows up. If you get some nasty cold like we did this past year, all that high dollar habitat will be locked up like the frozen tundra until it thaws.
Getting an opening in the next 2 years is probably impossible anyway.

Real deal. Get on wait list and start saving your money.

I’ve made three HF trips over the last few years, and our experience got shittier each time.
That being said, their setup is the real deal. Thousands of acres of flooded corn and timber holes that borders a huge refuge. The lodge is top notch and they feed you like kings. But I don’t think it’s worth the money honestly and prices keep going up.

Thanks fellas I’ll keep looking any other recomendations for a group of 4 to 6 looking to shoot mallards either in timber or dry fields.. looking to get out of the normal arkansaw hunt this year and head somewhere different. Anyone been to Canada? Not looking to DIY, this is a once a year trip we take where we like to let other people do the work.

$800/day on a maybe is rediculous. Checkout Duck Club of Oklahoma for dry field hunts, think he is $400/day without lodging.

No way I’d ever pay for it.

Go to Oklahoma or Kansas. You'll shoot greenheads and canadas in dry fields

I will second Kansas and Oklahoma. $300-$400 per man per day with lodging. We cook before hand and feed everyone at the camp.

I third Kansas and Okie. We went to Okie back in January. Hunted 2 days. It was good, not great. I think we ended up shooting about 20 Mallards/Robbers both hunts. It was brutally cold a few days before we arrived and everything was locked up solid. They were holding some big numbers on their open water but it started warming up big time while we were there and the ducks moved back into Kansas is what we heard. We should have went goose hunting one of those mornings since one of their parties hammered the Canadas. They shoot the little Canadas too, not the golf course kind.

That place looks incredible. How the hell do you book a hunt though, there's nowhere on their website to book?

Didn't realize they were this much. You are better just going to Canada since at least you can somewhat feel good about shooting a bunch when paying out the arse. Anywhere outside of Canada and you are taking a huge risk on not killing shite and Canada is not always 100% lights out.

If you follow Tony Vandemore and HF on social media, you'd swear they don't have any slow days up there.....ever. Glad some have shared the truth about it.
