Round rock Texas. Austin isn’t really Texas, round rock will be better

The North Carolina/Georgia border area is gorgeous and a golfer's dream. A couple of spots are obscenely expensive but others are just plain old expensive.

You will die of stress and obesity before you retire

If the Caribbean Islands weren't overrun with the deadbeats that live there now, I'd imagine many of those islands would be ideal retirement destinations.

Diamondhead Miss. (shhh....don't tell anyone). No crime, close enough to everything you need.

You can go to hell.
Seriously, almost 3 full pages on this board and nobody came up with the most obvious answer.

San Miguel de Allende Mexico has my vote. Unbelievable weather, amazing city, great people and food. Easy to get home if needed; four daily non stops from local airport to Houston. The quality of life there compared to most us cities is ridiculous.

I hope to be done by 65. I’m thinking as of now to have a little place in Bay St Louis to call home base. Of course we are going to travel a bunch and spend a lot of time in Nola.
If things work out well we will end up in Western North Carolina

We have property in Clayton and really love that area but will probably sell it as we bought some property in Welfare, Texas and that’s where we will end up.

Kingsland property on the St Mary’s river does not equal St Mary’s.
St Mary’s is the little town where the river meets the ocean.
Not comparable to a town 20 miles inland.

We plan to split time between the keys and upper New England. Original plan was to split time in an SEC town, but it doesn’t look like that will work out unless we give up the keys.

New Mexico. Lot of beautiful scenery, plus a lot of neat little towns there. Seems like time slowed down a long time ago for a lot of places there. It's where I plan t retire to someday. Probably get me a little place a little bit out side of a town, maybe in a small village or with no one nearby.

I'm retiring in New Orleans, LA someday.
