n another note, Smoke and Mainieri had basically the same amount of wins in their first 5 years at LSU.
This is true too

Boxcar...let’s keep this comparison to Saban going in year 2. I’m interested to see how it turns out.
You see, Saban wasn’t coaching in year 1 for results on the scoreboard. He had a vision to build a stable/dominant program. Every move he made, every sentence he uttered, every hire...was centered around that vision.
O has been here for a while...can you tell me what his vision is?

No he can’t , hence why he started a thread yesterday asking what O could do to emulate Sabans “process”
Boxcar, why would O want to emulate a guy he’s a better coach than??
If O is better than Saban, he should be able to match his number of national titles in no time!

Saban also lost a future National Title Winning Quarterback when they were 6-1 after beating Florida. Saban also was coming off of an SEC Championship season.

Have you learned nothing from reading the Rant? You are not allowed to say anything positive about Ed Orgeron!! He must always be described as a mentally challenged Cajun who will lose every game he coaches by 1,000,000 points! Anything else will not be tolerated.
That being said, it really is apples to oranges. Saban had to rebuild the program from scratch. O at least had something to work with

This is such BS. Most people with a functioning brain acknowledge that Ed is a really good D line coach and recruiter just a terrible head coach.
And this thread wasn’t started to just say something positive about O, the person who started this thread literally stayed at one point that O is a better coach than Saban.
That type of idiocy deserves all the ridicule it gets.

Curley Hallman has a better head coaching record than Ed Orgeron.

My god this may be the dumbest shite I’ve ever seen.

This is epic. Since you guys cant be this dumb I can only surmise that this is a product of the DP propaganda machine. How this bullshite is allowed to continually be posted is amazing. Oh well fiddle away Nero you propagandizing mother fricker. Meanwhile the real LSU fans will be concerned with the AD and the search for a competent HC

Okay first off, define, "been here a while"?
He is starting his second year as HC.
Secondly, one thing I can tell you what his vision is. It is to build up offensive and defensive lines that were terrible in the latter years under Miles, check!
Trying to change the offensive philosophy, which he actually seems to be doing.

Looks like you're doing this to just get attention?
Posted on 4/26/18 at 8:35 am to boxcar willie
Saban had QBs can throw accurate passes at 20 yards.

One thing I can tell you is changing it from a Power I and toss dive left and right into the teeth of the defense. Trying to run 3 and 4 WR sets and getting the TE's involved. Something Miles refused to do, that much I do know.

Do you have room for one more on the championship express?
Posted on 4/26/18 at 8:47 am to boxcar willie
It’s clearly bc Saban is an inferior coach. Happy now??

Danny Etling had 38 dropbacks in Miles final game
Your a Moran.

quote:what about cornerbacks? He can just forget about that position and bring in grad transfers? What about missing on a qb last cycle? If one leaves LSU is fricked.
