The mental anguish and life effect burden actually makes sense in this case for uninjured passengers
There are likely people that will never be able to fly again due to trauma and pure fear, which def changes your life quality
Oh jesus fricking christ.
What about about the men that saw friends die on the beaches of normany? Did they get compensated because going to 30A would be difficult?

however, aside from that, nobody that wasn't injured should be able to sue southwest.

I mean thats a hyperbole, but really?
I guess call gordon or morris bart or whomever and try and cash in.
I would personnally go ahake the hand of the pilot and thank her for allowing me to see my kids again. And be done with it.

Sorry, it should be expected with the high price of flying these days that the airline maintains their aircraft instead of stuffing their pockets with the savings from cutting corners.
You make a good point here.

The FAA literally doesn't allow them to cut corners. Aircraft maintenance and inspections are very strict.

but I strongly believe they should be forced by the FAA to immediately inspect the health of all of their aircraft.
Airplanes have logbooks and regularly scheduled inspections as mandated by the FAA. What you are proposing is ludicrous and not needed.

That's called life. Sometimes tragic shite happens.
No. That's called someone didn't do their job very well and almost caused a commercial flight to crash. This isn't some random "tragic" fate that was bestowed upon the passengers.
If someone is at fault, they need to pony up and pay for the repercussions.

This type of failure is exceedingly rare, most pilots will fly their entire career and not have any type of engine failure.
My friends jet pilot has over 25,000 hours logged and no major incidents or failures. Some of those hours were with major airlines before he went private.
People here blaming Southwest for poor maintenance have no idea how rare what happened truly is or what it takes to ensure a plane meets all FAA inspections to be air worthy.

I'm guessing most will turn that down and let the lawyers handle it

there should be two prices for stuff like plane tickets. a lower price point in which you give up your right to sue, and a higher price point in which to reserve your right to sue.
for instance a coach seat on this plane would have had a $ 217 price point if you give up your right to sue if something happens or a 341 dollar price point if you reserve the right to sue.

According to the Advocate, it was recommended that Southwest check these bolts on blades and Southwest asked for more time. This apparently could have been prevented.

You need to call the NTSB, you can help them out since they don't know any of this, and probably wont determine a root cause for a couple of years.
