Is there too much content available?

With all these new platforms with original content and traditional media with it's own content, it just seems that there is just way too much to consume. I just don't have to time to watch some of the stuff that other people rave over. What a time to be alive

Yeah it's nearly impossible to stay up with all the best shows.

Only in Russia, comrade. Only is Russia.

Too much good content available. I don't care that there are a thousand channels and options that have content that isn't for me. More power to the folks that like that stuff. But it's at the point where I won't be able to see everything I want unless I have a long retirement.

Yeah my DVR is loaded right now and barely have time to watch the 30 minute local news.
Took me 2 years just to rewatch The Sopranos

Lately I have trouble keeping up with my DVR much less trying to watch new series on Netflix or Amazon. I find myself spending a lot more time on YouTube than I used to though.

I don’t see how anyone could keep up with all of the shows out there, even just on Netflix.
They’re good quality shows, but I can only watch so many series at once or they all start blending together

Yeah, I've given up on trying to keep up with it all. My wife and I have decided to only commit to 2 shows at a time: one heavier show with episodes closer to an hour (Peaky Blinders, Better Call Saul, Fargo, etc.) and one lighter show with episodes closer to 30 min. (The Office, Parks and Rec, Kimmy Schmidt, etc.). That way we can pick which one we watch on any given night depending on the amount of time we have.

I don't have netflix, so I've missed a lot of those (kodi let me watch some). I think I'd rather watch the Netflix shows over Amazon Prime shows, but I use Prime for shipping too much.

That's part of the problem, too much new content to be rewatching stuff.

Yes. I had to make a spreadsheet to keep up with all the shows I want to watch.

I'm leaning that way, but a lot of it has to do with where I am in life. If you asked me 7-10 years ago I would have said no. But I had one young child and my wife and I worked full time. We'd get home, eat dinner, and after our kid went to sleep we'd fire up the DVR and catch up on a couple of shows. Now we've got all sorts of stuff going on, and I can't even find the time to binge on a Netflix show.

I have DVR anxiety and apparently it’s a real thing lol
We had 7 shows record last night. 7! That’s not including the stuff we watch streaming.
Too much

There's no way anyone could possibly get bored nowadays.
Yet we still manage to find a way.

Yes, there's too much stuff, but I think once you're able to allow yourself to miss out on things, it becomes less of chore. Also, its much easier to STOP watching something now, as I have about 100 other options.
My biggest issue honestly is I need shows for passive viewing. I have too many shows that require full engagement, and I need some good veg out shows that don't require much engagement from me to enjoy. There's only so many episodes of Grand Tour/Top Gear.
