the Remnants and Na Na Sha both from Baton Rouge play great dance music

We had At Fault for our wedding last January. They were fantastic! Also, their price was significantly less than some of the others. Bucktown All Stars and BoD are bland imo. Personally, I'd go with At Fault, Groovy 7, or River City Hit Squad.

Old Sole out of Baton Rouge is pretty awesome.

Why do people love cover bands at weddings?

What do you want? Maybe an EDM dj.

Louisiana Spice did our wedding and were great.
Same. It's been over 4 years and I still get complimented on our reception band. Highly recommend.

Didn’t realize BoD was so widely disliked.
I'm not sure if the wedding will be classy or a bunch of trashy drunks, but have you seen the costumes that they wear? And one of their more famous parts of their act used to be using a leaf blower to shoot toilet paper all over the place.
My company had them come up to near baton rouge for a picnic. They kept putting out the emails and newsletters promoting that this great Nola party bad BoD was going to be performing. I laughed and told some co-workers that it was going to be bad.
Now picture a bunch of families out there, no alcohol, and their music sucking.
They actually were drinking I think and then when they ran out asked the crowd a few times if anyone had any alcohol for them. Someone told me after I left that one of the band members grabbed our PR person's arse on stage.

Bucktown and Boogie Men would be my two suggestions

Gone to a couple of weddings this year with The Boogie Men playing. Thoroughly enjoyed and mixed up the sets each time.

Clustafunk
Excellent party band. A lot cheaper than BoD and Chee Weez.

Michael Foster Project has been a lot of fun at every wedding I've been to where they played.
