So roughly 1/8 of your pretax income or 12.5%. After tax closer to 20%. I'd say that's a pretty big deal.
Put down the pipe, baw.

Way to quote only part of a post and then not mention the rest of the post where I cleared up what I was saying.

Cafeteria with employee discount... rarely costs me more than $4.

We have a cafe in the building and my company subsidizes a portion of my daily meal.

Company pays for any and everything from when I walk out the door in the morning until I get home, spend about $20 per day on average unless I'm out late and stop off for dinner. Sweet deal.

What alternate reality of the OT am I on?
$500 grocery budget and frickers that can’t afford to buy lunch.

I bring my lunch most of the time. I used to have a policy of eat out once per week to get out of the office and to socialize with coworkers, but lately I just don't care much.

My cafeteria chef makes me LA food, once a week or so and the yankees love it. I pay 8.50 for gumbo, jam, etouffee to be chained to my desk, happy. I go home, don't eat and drink wine. I cook on the weekends.

I can afford a lot of shite I don't buy. And I can afford a lot nicer shite that I do buy because I don't waste money eating out.

Hell no. Everyone at my place of work brings their own

I make enough money where the convienance and getting out of the office is worth it.
This is the key. If eating out cost me $30 a day I'd still do it. Getting out and breaking the day up gives me something to look forward to and I feel better when I get back. It's not always about saving money.
