I get a military discount at both so either one is fine with me.

Well now that I live up North....I prefer Menard's or Fleet Farm. I go to Home Depot every now and then. Lowe's is awful.

I'm an HD type of guy. Always seem to have enough staff to assist unlike Lowes

HD has a Walmart vibe - Lowe's is more Target-y

It is interesting you say that. Where I live, Lowes is right next door to Wal-Mart. So it definitely has a more Wal-Mart feel.

I much prefer Home Depot. At least in my location thr staff is knowledgeable and helpful. At Lowes they sit talking to each other the whole time and cant answer any questions.

Lowe's because my credit card with them gives me a 5% discount on all purchase.

Depends, unless I am over by Millerville then anywhere but that Lowe's. That place is a a shite show all the time.

Which ever is closer for small items. However I use Friday lumber for most construction materials and Anders hardware in Northport for any weird arse thing you cant find anywhere else.

Shop local as often as I can.

Lowe's only because their credit card still gives a 5% discount. Some brands are only at one or the other though, like Milwaukee is only at HD. If you don't have the CC then whichever is closer honestly, there's not much difference.

HD has better smart home items, better clearance sales and a better selection of lutron.

Ya'll suckers need to find the family owned hardware store and treat them to your biz.

Most of which are ACE/Tru-Value and closed on Sunday. I'll never understand why a hardware store would be closed on a Sunday: one of the two most popular days for a DIY'er to be shopping.

Depends on what you need.

I’d give a slight hardware edge to HD

I’d give a slight edge in paint to Lowes

Lowes also might be a bit better staffed.
