Thanks cuse.
Between New Orleans and Los Angeles I have 10 or 11 days to play with.
Would Dallas be the choice for Texas then?
I have never even thought of Denver. How do the Rocky Mountains compare in Denver to Canada because I might be going to Canada in 2019.
Is the Grand Canyon still worth doing for a day trip from Vegas? It would be a long day but it goes to the South Rim which is the best bit. Only $89 for a round trip.

Rocky Mts outside of Calgary are much more scenic and less developed than in Colorado.

I'm not sure, there's a few different options that we'll probably want the texans to weigh in on.
Denver has a bunch of micro breweries so lots of beer, weed (it's legal there), and hiking in the rockies. Now if you're going to canada in 19 then you may want to skip it, but I personally like colorado for a getaway.
Cash mentioned the tetons and rocky mountain national park. If you don't mind spending the extra $$ on flights, then that is the true nature/wilderness scenery in wyoming. Flights into and out of jackson are very expensive, however you may be able to find a decent deal if you look far enough in advance.
Grand canyon is definitely worth it, I went about 5 years ago and it is crazy to see in person. You can even take your hoveround there!

Skip Dallas.
So much to see in this country.
Dallas, like Atlanta, is a nice place to live but I wouldn’t want to visit there.

Don’t come to Texas and fricking visit Dallas...go to the Hill Country...Austin and the surrounding area.

If you are going the airbnb route let us know beforehand where you book a place at in New Orleans. There are some tempting places near the French Quarter for pretty cheap that are in not so desirable neighborhoods. That being said try to stay in the French Quarter, Warehouse Dist, Garden District or Uptown. These areas are walking distance from the sites or streetcar path.
