Creepy Lyft driver in BR (from Reddit)

This got posted to the Baton Rouge subreddit. Thought I'd share it here.
My wife had a very scary encounter with a Lyft driver on her way home from a bar to her girlfriend's house in Baton Rouge last night. This has been reported to Lyft, but just in case any women see him pop up as their driver, might want to cancel and get someone else. LINK
While she was outside of the bar, there was a guy that was hitting on her and she wasn't trying to have any of it. Once the Lyft driver came he said to her "is that your boyfriend?". To which she replied "No, just a lonely drunk guy hitting on me".
He says to her "do you ever think about the guys sitting at home all alone? They need someone too. You know it used to be that you just hit a woman over the head and took her back to her place to do what you want with them". It was at this point that she knew something wasn't right. She said, "well I'm happily married and I think more about the women that would have to endure that more than a lonely guy at home".
At that point he kept trying to turn off the GPS. Smartly, she said "can you leave it on, I like to see which routes Lyft recommends vs. when I normally drive" (she lives with me in Philly, first time in Baton Rouge). He says "sure, it just looked like you were tired and I figured I'd turn it off so you could sleep". At this point she just tried to be as nice as possible to him. She texted her friend (whose house she was going to that something was wrong and she was worried). As they got close the the address he said "I have a bad feeling about this area, my church is trying to let gays and blacks from this area in and my ex-wife is over in this area. It's not right...are you catholic?!". She said "no" and he pulled over to the side of the road and said "one second, I think I'm lost". She began trying to figure out which direction to run when he floored the gas and missed the next turn. Both her friend and I at this point are trying to figure out how to contact the police (I was stuck in Philly). He then made a U-turn and went back to the street he missed, which was about 1/4 of a mile from the destination. He again pulled over and she said "I see the house (she couldn't really), can you just drop me off in front please?". He goes "I'm waiting for something". She texted her friend the exact location where she was on GPS and she could see her friend walking towards them. She went to open the door and he floored it again. He stopped maybe 50 feet, but was closer to her friend. At that point she jumped out and ran towards her friend. He drove up to the driveway where the address was and just sat in the car as they went in the house. He waited outside for about 2 minutes and left.
While nothing criminal happened, there is something very wrong with this man and I feel terrible for not having been there with her. I hope he is removed from Lyft (and Uber if he drives there too). Sorry for the long post, I just don't want anyone else to have to go through that, I can't imagine how scared she was.

This is the epitome of something a 45 year old mom in her pajamas would share on Facebook

Is it possible this guy's wife completely botched the story? Sounds like she was getting into the car inebriated.
