I agree. Progressivism has become a kind of pseudo-religion for tens of millions of disaffected people. Seeing how it is based in resentment and pointing fingers at others for your own failings, that's a very sad turn of events for the entire culture. People are justifiably searching for meaning in their lives, and Progressivism offers them the affirmation of the "coolest" elements of society, particularly the entertainment industry, athletes, musicians, celebrities, social media culture, et al. Which would be fine if it didn't by definition , pit one American against another on the basis of skin color.

When we can't even agree that we can share a quiet moment of mutual respect for our nation's many blessings where we just kind of bite our lip on the things that separate us, we have issues. And when we choose to divide into tribes instead of celebrating what connects us, there is going to be a reaction.

Asking "difficult" questions does not infer TRUTH upon the conclusions drawn. Challenging a status quo is value-neutral and one can inspire others to do EVIL.

I did not say change was inherently positive. I did say, “This situation aside.”

Obviously it cuts both ways. One man’s hero is another man’s villain. Would you advocate the avoidance of controversy and change altogether? If that’s the mindset nothing changes for the worse... but nothing changes for the better.

I’m just saying, philosophically, advising people to avoid controversy overall isn’t sound advice.

I agree with that. I’m just reacting to all the people who are repeating the same cliches . And continuing to make the point that one can be seen to be “ brave “ even as one is advocating evil and creating suffering for other people . Let’s keep our eye on WHAT Eric Reid is saying and hold it to the critical scrutiny it deserves. As long as he advocates for SJW racial identity politics I will continue to challenge that.

I guess maybe patriotic isnt the word. But freedom to protest is 100% "by its very nature, inherently" American.

Now that doesnt mean that your employer has to choose to keep you on if you decide to protest, however these owners do not care and (as they should in my opinion) will pay anyone who makes their team better.

Edit: also Eric Reid is a tiger so I'll never hate him or call him gay or other degrading nonsense in the thread.

I 100% support Reid's right to protest.

I just also think it's hilarious that he doesn't understand he's in a line of work that has customers from all swaths of life.

If he was vociferously MAGA, he'd probably be free agent poison too.

If he was vociferously I'm with Her......same.

Wear pro-life shirts in the stadium? Same.

Wear pro-choice shirts? Same

Everyone wants to try and argue about why some customers don't wish to take in a product he is part of but that's literally COMMPLETLEY irrelevant.

If you are an owner, the fact some of your customers consider him a problem cannot be ignored. Owner's aren't in the business as a charity. They're trying to maximize revenue. Note, I didn't say they're trying to "make enough money"..........I said they are trying to MAXIMIZE revenue.

You don't do that by telling a significant percent of your customers you don't give a frick about their opinion...........even if you actually DON'T give a frick about their opinion.

Name the magical country that did not have slavery at some point in its history.

The history of slavery is the history of civilization. Consider moving on and looking forward.

I am a combat veteran and what him and the rest of the NFL has done is a slap in the face to everyone who has fought for this great country. Screw him and the NFL.

What happened to all that talk about being ok with never playing again if it meant sticking to your prinicples? Sounds like his wife got used to that NFL lifestyle

Where is the NFL and the owners who fully and openly supported the protests?
I find their behind closed doors hypocrisy funny. Everyone was supporting the protest defying Trump and now this guy can’t get a job. WTF
I’m lmao at the NFL.
Back to business.
