We're already out coached, and our coach is the only one who doesn't see it. No way his Cracker Jack plan works. My son's going to have one seriously frustrating game. Oh well, I'll save the effort speech for another day.

All little league games end on a wild pitch or passed ball.

I used to umpire little league when i was in high school and then in college. Most of the parents weren't too bad. You might catch a snide comment every now an then but nothing crazy. The coaches were the fricking worst. Several were family friends that i still wouldn't piss on if they were on fire due to how they would act. Just miserable, pathetic people.

I've coached and umpired in Louisiana.

The parents were ridiculous. I had to banish them from the bleachers one game. I'll never put myself through that again.

Is shaking dice supposed to mean something, or did she just have Parkinson's?

I remember when my son played. There was a dad who showed up to the games with wrist bands on and his baseball glove. He paced back and forth with a slight limp and uttered profanity and spit tobacco juice and shouted at the umps and the opposing team all game long.

My son was 9.

Well, you seem to be from Lafayette. I'd say you're lucky there was only one.

The worst situations I've ever seen all involved Marksville teams. I've never seen a game vs Marksville (at any age) where the cops weren't called. Those parents are the purest form of trash.

How does a little league team have rivals? That about says it all.

Was she actually shaking dice or is this some sort of ghetto slang?

You should go to a youth wrestling tournament, the parents are insane.

And because it's a solo sport, all of the ire falls on the kid. I've seen mothers absolutely yell at their kid "Work! Work!" Repeatedly.

Then, as the kid fails to escape and is down by points, throw their hands up and visibly dismiss their own child.

Some parents get caught up in the machine. We were on a 5 year old team a few years ago. We kept going until the coach started having tryouts with the 7U team and raised the price to $800/season. We bailed out. A lot of the parents just think that's how it works. I laughed my arse off when I heard the 11U team was at $3K.
