re: American Idol-Season 16 (Hollywood Week)

I’m into 4 singers and bored. I doubt I finish watching.

I watched the fake blonde country chick from Pitt and she's hot

Cade, aka Nick Andopolis (google it), is a fricking rock star. Dude was channeling Jimi Hendrix hard core last night.


And my boy Johnny Brenns keeps bringing it!! He has one of the most unique and marketable voices of the whole competition imo.


Overall though I agree, this wasn’t a great night of performances. Dennis Lorenzo in particular disappointed me.


Gabby, on the other hand, was a very pleasant surprise. I don’t remember her much from previous episodes but that was a great performance, and I had never even heard that song before.

Layla also seems to really be improving. Kind of like Johnny I think she is really buying and and trying to learn everything she can from the judges. They both haven’t had much training and started out raw but they seem very “teachable” and their talent is really taking shape.


Excited to see the duets tonight.


I still very much like the judges panel but I do think they are all being too easy on some of these performances. They all seem very emotionally invested since this is their first group of contestants and want them all to succeed so bad that they are having trouble giving the tough love. But pretty much all the judges other than Simon and maybe Harry had that early on.

I still just like that they are all excited to be a part of AI and seeing the talent. While none of them will ever be Simon, I do think they will toughen up as things get to the top 10 and tge stage gets bigger and the voters take over.

I think right now they are still mentoring and trying to encourage them all to see how they fit in the possible top 10 versus just straight up judging.

Yeah not a fan of her either. That accent when she sings in English is very distracting.


Agreed on Catie. She is a total spaz but the girl can sing. I think she goes far

when they had the last 2 guys in there. one pointed out his wife and kid. the other said "i got him when he was 1 week old." WTF does that mean? first he said he had a really hard life then somehow "got" a kid?

It’s his sister’s kid. She’s apparently a drug addict, possibly in prison, and he is raising her son as his own.

Yeah that last bit was awkward. I think it ran short and they told the judges to fill time.

Although Cade did blow the fricking roof off the joint, so at least there was some reason for all the fuss they were making


Unfortunately I think there is another week after this before the finalists are picked.

Yeah, this show will be much better when there is actual fan voting IMO.

Any ways, I have it on tonight and didn't even know the theme. Casually watching, really just listening.. and I kept thinking geez they sound much more professional tonight.. then I finally noticed it was duets with actual professional artists.

Absolute horse shite that Gabby got in over Layla.

I really thought Jonny lost it tonight with his terrible performance with that shitty Andy Grammar guy. Glad he made it.
