Nick Underhill passed along some bad info that Brees couldn't negotiate like a normal free agent. Turns out this isn't true.

His tweet:

quote:

NFLPA spokesman George Atallah tells me that Brees can negotiate with teams beginning on Monday. There was a misunderstanding last night when I was told he could not until Wednesday.

Saints better work to get this deal done by Sunday. Absolutely no reason Brees shouldn't listen to other offers if he's still available by Monday.

We were 1 game +1 play away from the Superbowl last year. Where is he honestly going to go that will offer him a better shot to win? Relax.

Why do we struggle so much with signing this man?

Relax I’m pretty sure we are figuring out certain deals , and how much money we need depending on what free agents we are going after . Then Drew will take the rest of the money

Let's say worst case scenario and Brees walks. What do we do?

I think that's when we have to give serious consideration to going all in for our QB of the future. Sign a vet as backup.

No need to panic. Brees is an intelligent man. He knows his only shot at another ring is in NOLA.

What other team (that needs a QB) is a QB away...
Jax and Minny

I'll start panicking when there is a press conference with Drew holding up a No. 9 jersey that isn't black&gold.

Or Brees can come back to the system that made him a hall of fame QB with a loaded team around him.

I'm calm, but Minnesota is one team that comes to mind.

Then there is fire to all the Baker Mayfield talk.

Or he can opt to make as much money as he can at the twilight of his career.

Agree, but do other teams actually waste their time talking to a player they know they have no shot at signing?
