that a witness cooperating with Mueller has told investigators that the meeting was set up in advance, apparently contradicting what Erik Prince, the founder of the security contractor formerly known as Blackwater, has told lawmakers about the meeting. Prince had previously told lawmakers and the press that his meeting with Kirill Dmitriev, a Russian official close with Russian President Vladimir Putin, happened by chance and was not set up ahead of time.

LINK.to Hill article, that references WAPO

I’m just posting for discussion. Don’t shoot the messenger #MAGA

Meeting took place during the transition. I’m not a lawyer, so I don’t know the in-ands-outs of the legality of this.

Would seem to me though that it would actually dispel the notion of “collusion” during the campain. If you were colluding with Russia during the campaign, why would you need to send somebody to the Seychelles after the fact to establish a “back channel”?

If I was the incoming POTUS I would set up similar channels with all foreign leaders....especially Russia. They’re on the short list of credible threats to the US right?

It would be incompetent not to do this IMO.

Every President has illegal, backchannel communications with foreign leaders.

2 reasons for me to be skeptical.

So much so that I'll give this no credibility.

None.

Diplomatic back channels are common among the past several administrations. Google Obama back channel Iran as an example

1st off, it's the word Nader vs Prince unless they have some emails. Nader is also the one claiming the UAE bought influence over the Trump camp.

2nd, you are right. Why pull this meeting if Trump and Russia were already in bed?

3rd, Trump was already elected President of the US by this point and there is a long history of administrations setting up secure channels of communication between countries. Who knows, maybe there was some reason not to trust the Obama hold overs with these task?

They are not looking for Russians. They are using Russians to look for something else they hope Trump did in the past that is illegal. Russians in BS.

The article suggests an acknowledgement by investigators that this was the first time the two camps began communicating. This is now the worst case scenario? Lmao

The POTUS elect might have done what every predecessor before him has done and opened lines of communication with foreign governments?

Even if we accept this story to be 100% accurate, what is the crime?

Before I click the link, has this "witness" paid or been paid by the Clintons? As seems to be the case with every cooperating party involved in this sham.

The more that Meuller goes into the weeds investigating *collusion* (which is NOT a criminal offense), the more He incriminates His own Investigation as it IGNORES the obvious Uranium 1/HRC corruption. The whitewash of Hillary's Emails, Her funding of the fraudulent Steele Dossier in order to "wiretap" the Trump Campaign by DOJ/FBI Operatives...is a 100 ton elephant in Meuller's room.

Does Meuller really think that He can show up to Congress with a 'report' that ignores the above, and be taken seriously, or as not being part of a coverup of the which HE was a main player (U-1).

When the OIG/Horrowitz Report comes out and if it don't encompass the above and lead to a Grand Jury to subpoena these folk (Meuller included) where damning evidence is in full view...then hell will break loose. As it should.

Soooooo, basically Mueller has nothing. Now he's to the point of investigating POST election conversations?

Serious question, before Obama won, he was hot-miked telling a diplomat that he'll have more leeway after the election, and that s EXACTLY what Mueller is looking for on Trump. No investigating needed, why isn't Barak cgarged?
