Florida voted to keep Daylight Savings Time year round.
An idea that is way past due.
Hope it spreads to other states.

Yep. DST all year round. I like daylight after work.

there's a coalition working in New England to get off DST altogether and move 1 zone over to Atlantic time year-round

don't see how that's not a winning issue for some low-profile legislator in every state

I would rather do away with standard time and stay on DST.

Isn't one basically the same as the other? If you have daylight savings time all year, aren't you just basically NOT having daylight savings time?

My mom lives in Arizona, where they don't recognize DST. She has always thought it was outdated and redundant. I agree. Its weird only living one time zone away from her but seeing the two-hour time difference when we visit her during the summer.

I wish every state would review it and oust it. I barely sleep as it is and the time change severely messes with my internal clock every time.

If we stayed on standard time it would get dark at 4:30. I wouldn’t have time to get done with work to go hunting.

Isn't Florida in 2 time zones?

How will this work?

They aren't getting rid of the time zones, just daylight savings time...

I can't fall back or spring forward.

Why does anyone give two shits about this?

Yeah, I always have to remember what month / time of the year it is whenever I go to AZ. Right now, they're an hour ahead but come Sunday morning, they fall back to the same time as us...

at least, most of the state does. What can confuse people is that if you're going through the Navaho lands in AZ (areas like Antelope Canyon, the 4 corners monument and Lake Powell) those areas DO recognize DST, so they're an hour ahead of the rest of the state. Even more confusing is that the Hopi Reservation (an enclave inside the Navajo area) doesn't recognize DST.

Doesn't Indiana have a few counties that have never recognized it?

Yes. The counties around Evanston don’t do DST.

Time changes twice a year are outdated and absurd
