Michael Flynn, the retired Army general and ex-Trump national security adviser who pleaded guilty last year to lying to FBI agents about his Russian contacts, has put his Virginia home up for sale to pay mounting legal fees, friends and family members told ABC News.

Flynn's 13-year-old, three-bedroom townhouse in Old Town Alexandria outside Washington, which he bought three years ago, was listed for sale in December with an asking price of $895,000 — money he will use to pay his high legal defense debts, his brother Joe Flynn said Monday.

Don't do the crime if you can't pay the dime

How much does it cost to say "I'm guilty", anyway?

Odd that this method of raising money never occurred to Roy Moore.

Even I have an insurance rider to cover such things.

And I'm not a retired general.

Lesson learned here: Always take the 5th when talking to the FBI.

If true, this is just wrong. The quality of someone's legal defense shouldn't depend on the thickness of their wallet. That someone could be forced to plead quilty to avoid financial ruin brings the legitimacy of the entire legal system into question.

They should extract his payment directly from Obama, Lynch, and Holders assets to pay this bill.

Flynn has come such a long way since leading those “Lock Her Up” chants at the RNC. He’s proof that karma is real and she’s a bitch.

Flynn should have just repeated "I dont remember" over and over. It worked fine for the numerous democrats who get their hand caught in the cookie jar.

Allegedly lie to an fbi agent that hates your guts... and be forced into poverty.

All the while, the fbi can lie their asses off to oversight committees, and face no real punishment.
