Publicly mocking and refusing to comply with a grand jury subpoena is a bold strategy. Let's see if it works out for him.

And it's likely Mueller already has all the communications he's requesting from him.

Notice that no one says "collusion" anymore as they try to change the narrative to Trump was criminally negligent by refusing to accept the fact that Russia was interfering in the election.

There never was any collusion. With the way that Congress leaks, if there were a smoking gun it would have been out to CNN and NBC by now.

As to the fact of Trump's "criminal negligence" I'm not sure Mueller would want to go that route and get slapped down by the Supremes. 1) As POTUS he has the latitude to evaluate who is and who is not a threat and act in any manner he sees fit in regards to policy. If Mueller would contend that Trump should have acknowledged that the Russians were interfering in the election, I'm thinking that is something that Obama and his DOJ should have handled.....Trump was a private citizen until Novemeber 9, 2016

quote:

They will spin this into obstruction of justice by Trump in his efforts to protect the Russians.

On what level was there obstruction? Trump never had the investigation stopped after firing Comey. He could easily say to Muller and his ilk, " I'm in charge of the Executive Branch, Lurch, and I can fire booger snappers Comeyat any time I want. I didn't like the guy from jump, so when I asked him to go on the record t say that I was not under investigation.....something he told me in private that was the case, I decided I had enough of his shite, so I decided to show him to the unemployment line."

Trump would be in his rights to say exactly this to Mueller's face and ten tell Mueller, "Hey, I don't like the way you look, I think I might find someone else to take your job.....maybe Ted Cassidy (the original Lurch)"

If there was anything damning someone would be indicted. This is another setup for a process crime. That's what this entire boondoggle has degenerated into

I would guess that someone talks sense into him by Friday and he testifies, and he doesn't end up in jail over this.

jesus christ you Trumpkins...

it was part of their platform at the Nomination Convention.
no sanctions being imposed despite unanimous support in Congress
120 million given to the state department to combat Russian meddling....ZERO SPENT.
Trump will cuss out his AG publicly, humilating him and yet sucks the dick of Putin with n'er a word about Putin's aggressive policies and actually calls a dictator 'a great leader'.
Not one Intelligence Agency department head has been given an order to actively go after Russian cyber efforts from this administration.
Trump is considering returning the embassy properties closed down by Obama in response to their hacking our systems, back to the Russians.

shall i go on.

He's not being called to testify. His emails, text messages, etc. have been subpoenaed and he has until Friday to provide them. He can be thrown in jail Friday if he doesn't provide them, or provide a legitimate reason why he can't. His TV appearances today aren't likely to help any potential legitimate reasons.

From wapo

In an interview with The Washington Post, Nunberg said he was asked to come to Washington to appear before the grand jury on Friday. He also provided a copy of what appears to be his two-page grand jury subpoena seeking documents related to President Trump and nine other people, including emails, correspondence, invoices, telephone logs, calendars and “records of any kind.”

Anyway, I still think he in the end complies with the subponea(s)

“I’m not spending 80 hours going over my emails with Roger Stone and Steve Bannon and producing them,” Nunberg said. “Donald Trump won this election on his own. He campaigned his arse off. And there is nobody who hates him more than me.”
