There is a real push that is growing to hold one of these. Not just on a Federal level but on many state levels, to amend state constitutions as well.

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) has been lobbying for awhile on both levels and now another movement has started that has 28 states already signed-on.

The main objective seems to be an effort to reform social entitlement programs and to restore power to the states.

What's your thoughts on what good, and bad, might come if all of this?

This Convention of the States group is really turning heads and picking up steam.

Remember, it would require yes votes by 38 states to ratify our Constitution on a Federal level.

The reform of taxpayer funded parasitic programs is very important. We have allowed a cancer to grow in our country, and now we must rid ourselves of it. No, not the people. I’m referring to the mindset that any and all needs are to be met by the government.

This is a legal and honest way to go about amending the Constitution.

I prefer it to the way amendments have been done lately, via having SCOTUS pretend it says what it does not. That is dishonest and undemocratic.

No real point to any of this, no matter what you pass liberals will say the constitution is a living document and says what we want it to say (see abortion, fig marriage)

I have been following the CotS movement and their primary goal is a balanced budget amendment. I would like to see a repeal of all amendments passed after 1900 except the 20th and 22nd. In place of the 27th I would propose the Congress receive no compensation of any kind beyond a per diem while Congress is in session and no Congressman may lobby the federal gov for five years after retiring from Congress.

Yeah well good luck getting anything to actually PASS on the Fed level. If you look at the history of getting the original passed you'll find it went back and forth a while with some serious wavering and that was just 13 states. The current Congress (both House and Senate) can't get together about a lunch or dinner without serious verbal fighting.

At the State level, much the same thing, too much infighting to get anything done. What they do change usually backfires anyway.

So yeah, go ahead and give those mental midgets a weapon like a constitutional convention and watch them shoot themselves in the foot over and over. Now that'd be entertaining!

Caveman from TX and the illiterate woman from Houston are really gonna help lead Texas to a brighter, IMPEACH HIM, future, RACIST.

All for it.

It will either work, or it will demonstrate that the government has grown too powerful, leading to a new secession movement.

I propose making California a sanctuary/welfare state where we will send all immigrants and welfare lifers.

Think we can get 38 states to agree to that?

I want net neutrality, 30 hour work week and an Airline passenger bill of rights section for more legroom.

Constitutional Convention? It'd be easier and cheaper to just have another Civil War.

I think it's a good thing. Clearly we've lost the central government. I thought DJT was going to at least halt the erosion of rights, but it appears to me he's weakening and giving in to the demands of the deep state. His recent comments on gun control trouble me, as well as his reluctance (or inability) to dump Jeff Sessions. Buyer beware.

If this government is going to be changed it'll have to be changed by the American People, so I support the Constitutional Convention. The Republicans in the U. S. Congress has been effectively neurtered by the Deep State. We gave them control of the Congress and dang near the U. S. Senate and they p####d it off. Last time I checked we still had massive spending, Obamacare is still with us, and illegals are still surging across our southern border. Talk about the wall is just that.....talk. Now we're starting to have real problems with inflation. Stuff happens when you print "funny money" out the whazoo.

Yes. I have been behind this for years. I hope the momentum picks up.
