As someone who is non religious there's few things I appreciate more than someone who is religious and seems to use it for legitimate good rather than distorting it to fit their agenda or use it to put others who are different down. Graham seemed like a generally great guy.

Sadly, you are incorrect. Because his message was not received in a positive way by EVERYONE, eff him.

If we could somehow look at the NET EFFECT that this man has throughout the world....

Graham had been preaching about the decay of american morality for decades.

oh and he hates Jews

quote:

The Jews, he told Nixon, were the ones "putting out the pornographic stuff." Prominent Jews, Graham said, "swarm around me and are friendly to me. They don't know how I really feel about what they're doing to this country."

Not at all. But you posted an incredibly biased source that openly hates conservative and Christian viewpoints. I’m not saying that they’re not entitled to those opinions or that they’re not right, but you used a source that openly hates him to take a shite on him for a remembrance.

I compared that to an openly racist non-existent newspaper giving Obama a fair shake in his obituary.

Only the soft and weak use the Rolling Stone as a source for anything. They will literally print anything.

Where is the "Dr" title coming from? I don't see where he earned a terminal degree at any point. And if ever awarded an honorary doctorate, you only get to use that title on the day it's awarded.

No clue.

He never referred to himself as Dr. and in later years, he didn't even like the "Reverend" title.

Gadnot - whether you are religious or not, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Doesn't really matter. Even if he earned that doctorate in religion, it's all made up stuff. Irrelevant to humans.

This is where I disagree. You can have good morels without having religion being involved. Religion is like politics, everyone thinks their beliefs are "right". This country was founded on religious freedom. People left to come here because they wanted to be able to be able to believe in whatever they wanted.

He did a lot of good and touched many people and had an impact on this country in numerous ways but the whole nonsense about having God in schools and courts is crazy. Not everyone has the same god.

But yet about 15 or so years ago, he came out and said that if people didn't donate X amount of dollars, the Good Lord was going to take him. WTF?

I am by all means not a holy roller, but that in itself turn my mind way away from said a-hole.

Why?

You probably don’t even know why you said that. You are just programmed.

BTW, this might have been brought up already but his casket was built by Angola inmates.

He donated a shite ton of money to Angola to build a chapel and set up a casket making operation.

Why so much hate towards a good guy?

It’s unreal to me that so many people still buy into this shite. I understand in the 40’s and 50’s when there was no way to know better, but at this point it’s mind boggling that people still have these beliefs
