This is what this country has come to.
Putting bulletproof shelters in classrooms.

Looks like a place for teachers to seduce their students

Good for tornadoes too.

1% tax increase on all gun/ammo sales to pay for these shelters for any school that wants them. No new laws restricting gun purchasing/ownership. Done deal.

What's the O/U on days until it's used for this? 365+?

People who want the freedom to purchase guns with minimal restrictions should acknowledge such freedom may result in a mass shooter from time to time and be willing to bear some of the cost to mitigate the loss of life.

Better than the bomb procedures from the 50's and 60's. Like hiding under your desk would actually save you from a nuke.

Eh a tax increase to attempt to prevent something that really doesn't happen that often isn't my cup of tea.
And it won't even prevent it. Just try to lessen casualties.

I’m sure if you had a kid in a school with a mass shooter on the loose you’d be ok with not having a shelter if it meant gun enthusiasts didn’t have to pay a few bucks for “something that really doesn’t happen that often.”

Oklahoma already had tornado shelters in schools.

My kids will probably go to Catholic school. Shootings don't happen when the heathens aren't around.
Raising taxes to fund shelters for things that don't really happen often is a bullshite bandaid.

But I don't, so frick your appeal to emotion.
