1% tax increase on all gun/ammo sales to pay for these shelters for any school that wants them. No new laws restricting gun purchasing/ownership. Done deal.
No, see, but how will the loud celebrities, etc. feel important with "common sense" solutions like you're proposing largely ending the issue and thus those people's relevance?
Also, as a gun-owner and supporter of not killing kids, I am 100% ok with a 1% tax for this purpose.

$1,000 for every child that can fit inside.
How long do you think one shelter would last? At least 20 years, right? Over 20 years that comes out to $50 per child. Not a bad investment in my opinion.

It’s cheaper than buidling a fricking bunker, but it’s still pointless. The whole point of a mass shooting is mass. I don’t care what mental illness the shooter has. He knows damn well when the best time is to get as many casualties as possible, and it’s not during 3rd period. You need someone who can actually be there to either neutralize the threat or keep the shooter preoccupied long enough for people to get out or for the police to get there.

You want to hold millions of law abiding citizens accountable for the actions of a lunatic?
Yes. Because the law abiding citizens allowed the lunatic to have a gun.

No, the FBI and local police not doing their jobs did.

No. If we’d just enforce the laws that already existed, none of it would have happened. Blame the fricking government you want to so carelessly want to trust our lives with.

How are these supposed to be used?
Shooter enters school. Starts shooting.
School activates alarm. Teachers lead students to shelters.
RIGHT IN THE SHOOTER's PATH?

The shelter that is referenced in the article will go in every classroom; however, that doesn't protect the kids if the shooter waits until lunchtime, when school is letting out, or from the shooter pulling the fire alarm and shooting everybody that exits.

Am very much a fan, though it's sad that's where we are now.
People keep saying this even though we live in a pretty non violent time historically speaking and school shootings have been trending down the last 10 or so years.
