Why. We are thinner at corner than we’ve been in over a decade. Added depth won’t hurt.

I understand we can take 27 recruits next cycle. If we take this young man we only get 1 year from him and drop to 26 recruits we can take in the 2019 class. His stats at Stanford aren't anything to really brag about. I'd save the scholarship for a good 4 year player.

This is what I was thinking about. Look at it in terms of player value and years of control like they do in major league baseball.

This guy burns an initial counter spot for a loaded 2019 class and gives one year of replacement level value.

That additional spot for someone in the 2019 class offers the potential of 3 years of above replacement level value.

For me, that makes him not a take.

LSU has been engaging Stanford CB and former John Curtis standout Terrance Alexander about being a grad transfer.

Not sure if this is a valid question or not but how are we engaging him about being a grad transfer? That means he is still currently on Stanford's roster, and we are actively recruiting him from their roster.

Isn't this what we were mad about with TCU and Willie Allen?

This doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Because the guy in charge decided to chase after a mediocre QB who was never coming here i nthe first place

PAC 12 corners can ball. May not do much in run support but they are great in pass D.

Well, that would certainly help with depth.

Exactly. Why would anyone say no to a kid who has experience playing a position that we are 4 deep at? Come on down kid.

Ummmm... so they are going to use another spot that could be used in next year's recruiting class to get a guy that may play 1 year where he likely stays on the bench the majority of the season? Didn't they just waste one and actually cost themselves other recruits on a one-year kicker?

Wouldn't be shocking with O being in charge though.

Why? If you are going to take a mediocre talent/skill player for depth and waste a scholarship counter when he can only be here for one year max, you could just find another younger transfer that gives you two or more years.

This is exactly the epitome of why people worried about O. His management is horrid and extremely short-sighted.

Did you see how fricking awful the kicking game was last season? I don't care if Cole Tracy costs us two scholarships, he's worth it.

Ummmm.... you kid, I don't know, rely on a special teams coach to actually work with them, which O decided wasn't a priority last year to assign to anyone like in previous teams.

It's not like LSU, where it was a pretty strong suit for special teams, magically went to crap once Les left just because.

So you would rather work with below average kickers and #hope&pray they get better than go out and upgrade the position? All over a scholarship that may or may not go to someone who will make a difference three or four years down the road?

Same situation with the Stanford CB. LSU needs him for the 2018 season. You are too worried about down the road and not focused on the season in front of us. That 2019 scholarship could go to a future first rounder or a guy who transfers to Southeastern after a season at LSU.

Looks like he played in pretty much every game since his freshman year so long as he was healthy

I'd take him just for depth

If Fulton won’t be eligible then we absolutely need this guy. We need the depth regardless but it isn’t 100% needed If Fulton plays this year. I’m hoping the Netherly position change is a success, he has to have great ball skills obviously but does he have the hips, agility , and awareness to play DB.
