If no one is shot or the objective of discharging the firearm is not to shoot a person is it really a shooting?

That 18 school shooting BS that was floating around a few weeks ago was pathetic. One of them was a man that committed suicide in an elementary school parking lot while school wasn't in session.

Is is dishonest for CNN to call a one or two victim killing by an associate that happens on a school campus a school shooting? Knowing the connotation leads to images of Columbine and the like?
I'm guessing more people will agree with that than not, since it was the common opinion in the thread about that CNN school shooting list.
My angle is that this appears to be a shooting that happened to take place at a college. The term school shooting is meant to rile people up and think of it as more than it is.

You're arguing with everyone in this thread and that's what you do in every thread. I honestly don't even know what your opinion is on this because it keeps changing depending on who you are arguing with.
My opinion is it's dishonest of the media to call something like the LEO's gun going off a school shooting or calling a murder a school shooting in the context of how we all think of it in the mainstream way. While it is by definition a shooting at school it is not a school shooting in the way the media makes it out to be.
I think we agree on this, but I'm not sure because your posts are so incoherent and wishy washy that I'm not sure.
