New Orleans and Baton Rouge metro areas will eventually grow into each other. They'll then be able to market themselves as one large area.
Maybe even get a soccer team and a hub airport.
The area needs better highway infrastructure and better universities.

There are only 10 US cities with a population over 1 MIl and only 30 over 500,000 per Wikipedia. Not that many big cities

And clean. Boston is the cleanest city I've ever been to in my life. I'm talking about litter.

this is geographically, but Dublin. For being a nations capitol it's crazy that you can feasibly walk across town

I think this one is pretty well-known but Green Bay barely has 100k people
I have been there 3 times for work and 1 for the Saints Game in 2011. I came back from first work trip in awe of how a city the size of Lafayette or so(it's slightly smaller) can support an NFL team.
But a TON drive from Milwaukee and many fly in from around the country. Their Lil Airport is jacked for Home games.
I also can tell you I've never seen a town as drunk as Green Bay other than aforementioned Lafayette. In Fact, Green Bay is very similar to Lafayette minus gorgeous women and good food and plus an NFL Blueblood Franchise.
Packer Fans are crazy but not mean like Philly or Chicago. They are fanatical about their own team and very aloof/dismissive to visiting fans.

Land wise, Jacksonville is the largest city in the lower 48
I once read that you could fit every person on earth standing in a 2 foot by 2 foot square inside the physical city limits of Jacksonville. This is a few years ago, so it may not be true anymore.

Who the frick wants to live in a cane field that should flood every Spring by chemical plants?

Ain't no one coming here for anything other than the River or tourism related to the old part of NOLA.

Don't think most people realize Cincinnati is only the 3rd biggest city in Ohio behind Columbus and Cleveland (they are all pretty close in metro size)

^ Cleveland is on this list. Always thought Cleveland was the biggest in Ohio, but Columbus has a few 100,000 more.

Columbus is growing much faster than Cleveland and Cincinnati

I for some reason thought Cheyenne would've been way bigger than what it was.

Kind of the opposite of the OP, but I was surprised to find out that Arizona has 7 cities in the top 100 for population.

Yes and zero sign of slowing down - the population is rising fast. I love it compared to growing up in Youngstown with decay and rust everywhere. It will be interesting to see the 2020 Metro area census data...not sure if it will be the largest metro in the state by then or not.

As a kid I thought New Orleans was huge. Like one of the biggest cities in the country.
Silly.
In 1960 it was #15.
