Thinking about breaking out the grill next weekend and throwing down with a few buddies, I was wondering what some creative (And good tasting, can't forget that key aspect) ideas would be? I know I am going to marinate a few steaks in some Italian dressing and for sure some squash and zucchini

Request to move to food board

I remember my first time cooking a steak

...and even then I knew Italian Dressing was not a steak marinade

just awful...

i'll venture an educated guess that you end up buying whatever cut of select steak you find on sale.

Why the hell would anyone do this? You must buy some cheap arse steak.

A good steak needs two things. Salt and pepper. That's it.

Based on the italian dressing line, I assume you're a novice cook, so here are a few super easy options:
--Fresh pineapple, basted w/coconut milk; bonus points for a tiny sprinkle of crushed red pepper
--Foil packets of yukon gold potatoes, cut into chunks, along with sliced onions, fresh rosemary, and lots of EVOO. Easy even for a novice, and you can move the packet(s) around as needed while grilling other things. Use a finger to test when the potatoes are soft (thru the packet) and you can't go wrong.
--Thick slices of sourdough bread, rubbed w/EVOO and a cut garlic clove. Laugh if you want, but grilled bread is damn delicious. Use it to sop up meat juices, or as a base for bruschetta or avocado toast
--Chicken livers. Skewer, sprinkle w/an all purpose seasoning (Tony's, Slap Ya Mama, etc), and cook hot & fast on the grill. Don't overcook; serve w/pepper jelly as a dip.

Grilled Caesar Salad is pretty darned good. We eat it often in the summer.

Grill some slices of baguette, brushed with olive oil, to go with.

Skip the steak if you’re going to bathe it in dressing.

Get a prize pizza, slather the underside in olive oil and throw it on the grill (lid down).
