What is going on? Poor workout technique? Diabeetus? Genetics?

It’s called going to the gym, but not actually doing anything

They think they need a bucket of protein a day and then eat normally. Gain weight, but don't look different. The real way to look in shape and show abs, is a very strict diet with the proper workout.

Not really working out. Being in the gym for 45 minutes doesn't mean shite if you're standing around socializing.

Poor eating habits and or too much cardio

I watched a very large guy today sitting at a bicep curl machine reading a book like he was chilling in his living room.

Also the person who ALWAYS claims to be dieting but yet never looks any different

They aren’t carrying around a gallon of water

I know a guy who has been going to the gym almost every day for 20 years and he's still 40 pounds overweight. He'd be better off eating less and walking two miles a day around his neighborhood, but it sounds cooler to say you work out at a fitness center.

It depends on the said person’s goal. Typically it’s an improper diet, and can also be the lack of following a challenging routine.

Some people just have shite genetics but you can still get in shape. You just won't look awesome.
