Got married in 1988 and lived in a trailer (14x65 2br) for 2 years afterwards (had lived in it for a couple years before marriage). I do have a trailer on Darbonne and a trailer for my deer camp so I do live in a trailer for lots of weekends during the year. Both the deer camp and lake trailers are Fema units with a 12 ft slide in the middle and very comfortable for the bride, myself, and her ankle biter.

I do have a very nice home but have no problem with people that live in a trailer. I honestly think most people will do the best they can with what they have to work with.

DSLD homes are complete shite. Same everything as a trailer, just with brick at the base instead of cinderblocks

My first house was a DR Horton home. It was all I could afford at 27 with a kid on the way. It was so cheaply made. Lived there for 7 years and was glad to get out of it

I live in a trailer. It's pretty new, pretty nice, with a deck on the back looking out at the lake. I don't feel deprived at all.

I’d judge someone thats 25+ living with their parents over someone’s living in a trailer

Note: I will also judge someone that lives in a trailer that is worth less than their truck and boat.

Some of you think way to highly of your opinions. No one gives a damn.

Not that I really care but I got down voted in another thread for saying that I live in a 225k house on > 150k household income. My house is fine to me and I don't really need much for a family of 3. It's close to my kids school. A lot of people have different priorities of what they spend their money on. It's none of my business.

I fail to see the problem with that...

This board in general is populated by a bunch of pretentious, socially awkward people. I take very little of it seriously.

do believe a weatherman in the Huntsville, AL market was fired during the tornado outbreak for saying "if you live in a trailer, get out now, it will literally be thrown across the road

What should he have said? "It's ok to stay put in your trailer with an EF4 coming through town?"

My goal (and my wife) is to move into an RV and winter in the south/Mexico and summer up north/Canada. No house, just store some things (i.e. summer clothes and/or winter gear) in a TBD location.

So a "trailer" is us moving to our happy place.

I live in a new special order double wide. All tape and textured, upflow air, real wood cabinets. I have buddies that live in 300k+ houses, and the only difference is their note is $2k/month and mine is 700/month!
