Who gives a frick about bump stocks except the most diehard?

And why would anyone think Trump cares? He’s a New Yorker who doesn’t really care about this shite. He knows he has to toe the line on the 2nd but he will flex on stuff around the edges if it makes this issue go away. Only the dumbest most extreme motherfrickers care about some of this shite like bump stocks and Trump isn’t going to alienate the middle ground over it.

Yeah, that's why I said to wait. A week or two should be enough for the fake concern to settle.

Serious question. Do you think that bump stocks should be legal for 2nd amendment reason or because it's so easy to do it using belt loops etc. that banning them doesn't do anything? Or is it the slippery slope issue?

Well then this seems pretty silly.

It is. Anyone who passed art in 1st grade can accomplish the same thing that a bump-fire stock does. Hell, you can make your own with a 3D printer.

Meh. I don't have an issue with it. No accuracy when firing full auto anyway.

Yep, and people think the issue is how quickly you can fire/how many rounds you can hold. Ban all you want, people will just get more creative. It's a fricking mental health issue, not the gun.

Yep - that's how politics works.

Is this considered infringing on the 2nd Amendment?

I doubt SCOTUS would take the case. Heller and MacDonald stood for the basic right to own guns, but they explicitly declined to extend the rulings beyond that and so I don't see a right to every conceivable gun accessory.

If it didn't happen under Obama with a supermajority in Congress, it's not going to happen.

The ban was not renewed because everyone saw it did absolutely nothing.

I honestly don't personally care if they're legal or not. I already have an automatic weapon, and as we covered yesterday, I don't have much use for them anymore. My thought on it is that the NFA and GCA68 both need repealed. Bump-fire stocks become irrelevant at that point.

That said, I do think it's a pointless gesture. It's easy to modify a weapon to do exactly what a bump stock does, and you can make your own if you are that eager to own one.

Yes, this is probably true as well. Are you good with bump stocks and that's it? Or are you thinking about the next thing that can be banned?

You believe those kids in Florida are the "Minority" of kids in this country? Those kids are coming up and I'll bet that assault weapon ban will be reinstated in the next 20 yrs. How much we betting?

Do you have the same political views that you had when you were 14, or have you matured a bit as you've gained education and experience?

Its a stupid "feel good" move.

I disagree. This is actually a common sense solution that can minimize casualties when crazies decide to shoot up a place.

Teenagers cutting class and marching is a stupid feel good move that accomplishes absolutely nothing.
