This is actually a common sense solution that can minimize casualties when crazies decide to shoot up a place.
Did you not read the myriad of posts where it was pointed out you can do the same thing with rubber bands, or just 3D print your own?
This will do zero to minimize casualties.

Yes, this is probably true as well. Are you good with bump stocks and that's it? Or are you thinking about the next thing that can be banned?
I've been completely consistent. I think the only two things related to guns that could be done that may help would be the banning of bump stocks and high capacity magazines.
Banning a gun because it looks like a "military" weapon is stupid.

high capacity magazines
That horse is long out of the barn chief.
Even if the millions and millions (billions?) of them break tomorrow, we now have the ability to 3D print them at home.

Excellent political move/PR stunt.
Horrible IRL move.

Sure, so now that bump-fire stocks are done, next up is something else. It won't happen, but if you get certain magazines banned, you're done? What happens when it doesn't solve anything? Do we get those items back?

Are they going to ban fingers and paracord, too?
If you don’t keep that hole in your face shut about it, maybe.
Bump stocks and raising age to 21 is not a bad move. It’s doing “something” without winding people up too much.

These are horrible moves. They imply that the fix for this shite is more gun regulations..and they won’t prevent anything. This will lead to calls that we “didn’t go far enough”

I’d be done. I’m not how you could ever prove if it was or wasn’t effective. How would you measure that?

I’m guessing any ban of them would also make the home construction illegal as well. It would still happen but I’m not sure it would be as common as you think.

You can't but if someone were to use one after the ban you would have a very strong teaching moment.

I’m well aware that banning something doesn’t miraculously eliminate its existence from society. Again, my goal is not perfection but improvement.

But that's just it. The point would be to deter mass shooting events correct? Do you think the nutjobs that want to carry out mass shootings give two fricks about it being illegal to print your own 30 round mag?
They don't care that murder is illegal.
They don't care that it's a gun free zone.
They don't care that it's illegal to create your own 30 round mag.

But how do you endorce any of that?
If LEO starts coming to homes to confiscate mags there will be dead people.
Something to consider: Many gunowners are NEVER turning over their items.

Since when does Trump give a shite what the liberal-progs of the country think or if they do or don't shut up?
Since you ask the question, you, like the muck-dwelling progs he provokes, don't understand. So, its a waste of time to try and explain it to you.

I’m no 3D printing expert but I kinda think that many people on this board are way overestimating a persons ability to whip up a functional magazine.
I know a bunch of people. I know one person that owns a 3D printer and the items he’s made with it are crude at best.

It's no more an improvement than the NFA was an improvement. The parallels are certainly noteworthy.

You know one dude, and you think that discounts everyone's abilities? Do you think that maybe he just doesn't know what he's doing?

Well Trump says to do it, then it must be the right thing.

You can’t. That’s the problem. I think the pos that shot up the high school would have shot fewer people if he had to stop to reload more often. Some people don’t think so. Neither side can prove they’re right. It’s not a testable hypothesis for obvious reasons.
